Chapter 5: The Duke

Erina's Pov:

I was enjoying my sleep when i suddenly woken by the commotion outside, several voices was heard and one of them was her mothers quivering voice begging to quite down so i won't be woken.

I panically stand up and get dress to see what is going on and when i open the door i was shocked to see many knights in our house and my mother kneeling infront of a handsome man in his 30's. A man with the same eyes as me and pretty silver hair almost turning grey. He sit leisurely in our sofa looking fierce and demanding, while he look at me with his emotionless golden eyes

"M-mom? What's going on? Who are they?" i ask confused looking at my mother

She look up to me and force a smile with unshed tears in her eyes. My heart beat fast when a realization hit me when i look at the man infront of me

"Erina" my mother called as tears begun to fall from her eyes "He's your father" she whispered with crack at her words

"Mommy?" i called nervously, she stand up and hug me

"You need to go with him"

"Mommy"

"You're gonna be ok i promise" she let go "I love you so much" she kissed me then two big hands grab my wrists gently as they guide me outside the house

I panic and called my mother

"Mommy? Mommy! Please no, i don't want to leave!! Mommy" i cried as i struggled to leave from the two knights' grasp

I can't fight them, my mother warn me to never hurt a knight especially a noble before when we are nothing but a commoner so the only thing i can do is glare as i let them make me sit in a luxurious carriage.

I look at my mother to get help but the only thing i see is her back and her shoulders moving up and down while she silently sob. I know she doesn't want this. I know she's also reluctant to let me go.

But why? Why is she giving me to this man? I look at my so-called-father who's talking to my mom and then sat across me and frown. Did he threaten my mother?

My blood boil as i glared at my so called father while clenching my fist. This damn nobleman, what did he do? My mother is someone who wouldn't give up anything as long as she has the power to do what she wants. But in a face of a noble when she doesn't have the power she can't do anything but to nod her head and shut up.

But wait, my mother wouldn't care about anything when it comes to me. She would curse everyone who tried to take me away or insult me

I look at my mother as the carriage move and saw her looking at me with pain and apologetic look as she mouthed 'i'm sorry' to me

My tears trickled as i realize fight for me. She, give me to him without a fight

"If your thinking she give you up that easily then your wrong" suddenly, my so-called father stated

I look at him who's been looking outside the window without a word. He look at me with his cold gaze and then cross his arm

"That woman. She's not even your mother yet she dare to threaten me to treat you better" he said coldly

"What do you mean?" i ask muffled with tears

"She told me that she's going to kill me if you got hurt or if i make you feel unwanted" he explained then look outside again "Such a fierce woman" he whispered

"How did you know she's not my real mother" i ask

"Her soul is someone else. Someone not from this world i think" he answered without looking at me

"Yet you still dare to take me away from her" i bitterly stated

"You are my daughter i have the rights with you" he suddenly argue glaring at me as i glare at him too

"Thinking about that now? You should've abandoned us in the first place"

"She took you away from me!!" he shouted but i didn't flinch

"Because you told her to leave after she gave birth to me!!" i shouted too "You want me to live without a mother!!"

"It's for your own good" he coldly said as i look at him coldly

"Lies" i coldy stated

"Your mother. Your 'real' mother wants me to marry her for my wealth using you" he clenched his first seemingly irritated

"Fool" i told him and he glared at me " She wanted to marry you so i can live my life with a complete family until her last breath yet you ruined it" i said irritated too

"She's lying" he replied as i angrily slam my hands to the carraige door

"I know who's lying to me and who don't" i gritted my teeth " Mommy Jane will never lie to me!" i argue

"Your wrong"

"I am not!"

"She just lied to you!!" he shouted

"And it's for my own good!!" i shouted to as tears trickled like a waterfalls " She did it for me" i whispered sobbing

He sigh and look away from me as we embark the Madakan Forest

The ride was long and quite after the fight as i keep caressing my ring where my mother's gifts are. All her gifts are here because i don't want to lose them by accident or got dirtied in the house and if i wanted to wear or look at them i use to go inside the spatial myself.

To put it simple, everything that i own is in my spatial ring because everything was a precious gifts from her. My lovely second mother

I look outside and bite my lower lip. I know i should stop crying now but this is just damn frustrating

I can't believe this is happening. I never thought that there will be a day that i will be taken away from warmth that i grown up with

I sigh again for the nth time to stop myself from crying again and closed my eyes to try to sleep. But as i was about to fall asleep, a sudden stop makes me open my eyes in frustation

Damn it!! This is the worst day of my life!!!!
