"So tell me again why we're here?" Jay questioned as he and the other Ninja entered the roller rink.

"I met someone from the Inner City Ninjas a couple of days ago, and I wanted to see her skate," Lloyd replied as he tried to find a good spot to view the bout. He hadn't seen Olivia since the day they met, and he was curious about the amber-eyed girl. Kai, Cole, Jay, and Zane looked at each other with looks of uncertainty. When Lloyd had returned to the Bounty and told them he wanted to go out on a team bonding outing, this wasn't exactly what they had in mind. The announcers overhead could be heard introducing the opposing team. One of the names caused Jay to laugh, which sent several glares in the lightning ninja's direction.

"Sorry about him." Cole apologized, covering Jay's mouth. Everyone turned their attention back to the rink. The Ninja looked at Jay with questioning stares.

"Whaat? That name was funny!" He whispered. Before anyone could respond, the announcer started to introduce the Inner City Ninjas. Lloyd immediately turned his attention to the screens. Each player's number and name were said as the girls appeared in their uniforms.

"Hey, all their uniforms are different colors!" Jay said in surprise.

"Yes. It would appear their uniforms match the colors of our gis." Zane noted.

"And last but not least, number double 01, Lightning Hooooolt!" The crowd sent up a cheer as Lloyd looked to the screen. Sure enough, it was Olivia. Her long, light blonde hair was braided into two braids, and her big, round Amber eyes had a green lightning bolt going over them. On the screen, Olivia pounded her fist into the palm of her hand as her stats showed. Lloyd stared at the screen. He couldn't help but think that Olivia almost seemed different from the day they met. But he was going to have to watch to find out. Down on the track, Olivia tightened the laces on her skates and made sure her knee, elbow, and wrist guards were secure in place.

"Are you ready for the bout today, Holt?" Cali Manning asked. Olivia looked up at the older girl. Cali had a no-nonsense attitude when it came to roller derby. Her olive skin and dark hair matched the color of her uniform, red. The Inner City Ninjas were the only team in the league to have five different uniform colors. This was allowed, mainly due to the fact that the Inner City Ninjas were the one team formed to honor the Ninjas. Three girls wore red, three wore white, three wore black, three wore blue, and three wore green.

"I think so. I don't want to be overconfident." Olivia said as she adjusted her helmet strap. Cali smiled at her.

"That's some good thinking. I've seen how you've progressed at practice. I think you're going to do just fine." Cali said as she skated towards the coach. Olivia, feeling satisfied with the condition of her safety gear, followed Cali's lead and joined her teammates to hear the plan for the jams. Lloyd watched as five skaters from each team took the track. Olivia wasn't one of them.

"So, Lloyd? Which girl did you come here to see?" Kai asked. "I'll bet it's the one in red," he said, smirking. Jay joined in.

"No, no, the one in blue."

"Guys, it's obviously the one in black." Cole cut in. Zane looked at the trio questioningly.

"Why are you suggesting those girls? I believe it was the girl with the green lightning bolt over her face," he said plainly. Lloyd gave a simple nod.

"Yeah, that's her. I met her a couple of days ago when she was hanging up flyers for today's bout," Lloyd explained.

"Bout?" His fellow Ninja questioned. Lloyd shrugged his shoulders.

"It's what they call a match in roller derby, shoobs," one of the spectators said, giving the Ninjas an unimpressed look. "Now, if you don't mind, they're getting ready to start the first jam," she said, turning to the track. The ref blew the whistle, and the girls began to skate the track. The game progressed. Both teams remained neck and neck for most of the bout. It was now down to the last four minutes. Olivia watched as Brielle, "Grand Slammer," exited the pack and quickly took the lead. She rounded the track and made a jump off the ramp. Brielle then made her way to the pack in order to make her first scoring pass. Olivia felt a tap on her shoulder and turned to see Anne.

"Hey, Kraken wants us to get ready to take over Brielle and Rachel. You'll be the pivot, and I'll be the jammer." She said. Olivia nodded, grabbing the spare pivot panty and putting it on her head. Anne turned to the crowd and froze. "Liv, the Ninja are here." Olivia froze and turned to look where Anne was looking. Sure enough, there was Lloyd with the other Ninja. She hadn't expected Lloyd to come, let alone bring the other Ninja. Olivia wondered why they had come, but yet she was glad. She wanted a chance to talk to Lloyd and get to know him properly. The jam ended, and the ref blew the whistle, signaling the opportunity to substitute players. Olivia skated to her place at the front of the pivot line. Anne went back to the jammer line and got ready to skate the final jam.

The Ninja heard the referee call the final jam. Lloyd looked and saw Olivia in the front line. She looked determined and focused. The referee blew the whistle, and the final jam began.

Hello all! Chapter 2 is here! I need to introduce the terms pivot line and jammer line. A pivot line is the starting line for the pack that is in front of the jammer line. A jammer line is a starting line on the track, located behind the pivot line, from which the jammers depart on the referee's second whistle. I think that's all I need to introduce for now. Also, I do not have a set schedule for publishing this story. It will only be posted when I finish the next chapter. Anyway, thanks for reading, and I'll see you in chapter 3!
