A/N: sorry for the late update, but I've been very busy with revision. There might be a delay in publishing the next chapters, unfortunately, since I have my A-Levels starting (I'm so scared, pray for me guys!) and I'll be busy with that. Inshallah, as soon as they're over, I'll have updates for you. But until then, this might be the last chapter in a while. xx

"MALKIN, OVER HERE!"
Icarus Malkin turned to see Alice Deane rush over to him and grab his arm. "Woah, Deane - what's happened?"
"Hunter's surrounding the place," Alice warned, "Get out now."
"What did you do?" Malkin demanded.
"No time," Alice disagreed, and then she turned on her heel and ran in the other direction to where Lockwood was running down the stairs with Lucy.
"They're onto us and blocking all the exits," Lucy warned.
"You haven't got a plan, have you?" Alice inquired.
Lockwood looked past them and down to the floor below them. "Well, I didn't, but now I do, I think."
They followed as he dashed to the floor below and ran to a ghost alarm.
Lucy grabbed Alice's wrist, "He told me what happened. You're a terrible actress woman."
Alice grabbed Lucy's hand, "Does he know?"
Lucy rolled her eyes, "You're lucky."
Alice breathed out a sigh of relief.
The moment Lockwood pulled the alarm, the lights cut out, and salt sprinklers began to appear on the ceilings.
A voice beeped over the intercom, "The salt sprinklers have been activiated. Please calmly and carefully make your way to the nearest exit..."
People began to scream, running around and rushing to the exits. The commotion was wonderful.
Salt rained from the ceilings like some form of enchanted snow.
Lucy looked back as they ran, her eyes falling on Kipps, who stood at a balony watching them run.
He waved.
She blushed.
Alice grabbed her wrist and dragged her forwards, "You need to tell me everything when we're not in mortal danger."
"Same for you," Lucy agreed.
Lockwood turned, brushing a curl out of Alice's face, "This party's dead, love. Do you want to ditch it with me."
Alice grinned, "Absolutely, love."
...
"Is anyone following?" Lockwood inquired.
Lucy looked through the back window of the taxi and shook her head, "No." She sat opposite Lockwood and Alice, who both sat beside one another, far too closely than 'business partners' should be sitting.
"I think, after tonight, all of us will be off Penelope's Christmas card list," Lockwood mused.
Alice rolled her eyes, "Jokes on you, I was never on it."
