"They're getting closer to each other," the man said, "This isn't good."
"I thought they were at odds," the woman replied," What changed?"
"Their bond is stronger than I thought," the man mused, "They will find out the truth eventually."
"We must hold it off as long as we can," the woman urged, "For their sakes."
The pair watched carefully as both girls snuck back onto campus, oblivious to the heart-wrenching truth.
"It breaks my heart to see them this way," the man whispered.
The woman lay a hand on his shoulder.
"I know," she replied, "It breaks mine as well. But the time is coming for the truth. They will be angry, but they will be thankful in the end."
The man nodded.
"Then this is how it shall be," he agreed, "For their sakes."
