~Chapter 5~

The day on Cybertron slowly faded into night.

The endless metallic horizon of the planet glowed beneath a sea of artificial starlight as the massive cities flickered to life. Towering spires of chrome and dark alloy ignited with streams of neon illumination that ran like rivers through the towering architecture. Transport lanes hummed with traffic as hover vehicles streaked between buildings in glowing lanes of violet and gold.

Even from the upper districts, the sounds of the city never truly died. Music echoed through open plazas. Vendors advertised their energon blends in loud mechanical voices. Groups of Cybertronians laughed and talked as they moved through the bustling evening.

But there was one place where the heart of Cybertron's nightlife beat the strongest.

MacCadam's.

The famous establishment stood wedged between towering structures like a hidden gem of glowing amber lights. The bar was legendary across Cybertron. Gladiators, warriors, laborers, smugglers, and even the occasional noble gathered here to unwind. Stories were exchanged, rivalries were formed, and reputations were either cemented or shattered beneath its dim lighting.

Inside the bar, the atmosphere was alive.

The low hum of conversation mixed with bursts of laughter. Energon mugs clanked together as patrons toasted victories. Music from an old Cybertronian string instrument played softly in the background while colored lights reflected off the polished metal surfaces of the room.

At the far right corner of the bar, tucked into a half-circle booth that overlooked the main floor, sat two figures who had become the center of attention earlier that afternoon.

Trigona and Bulldozer.

The two gladiators had fought one another in the arena only hours ago in a brutal match that had left the crowd roaring. Despite the ferocity of the fight, there was no hatred between them. Gladiators respected strength, and both had proven themselves worthy.

Now they sat across from one another with large mugs of glowing energon resting on the table.

Trigona leaned back slightly in her seat, relaxed but still alert. The reflections of the bar lights danced across her armor plating as she lifted her drink to her lips.

Bulldozer, on the other hand, looked far more casual. His broad frame filled most of the booth space, and his heavy shoulders hunched slightly as he rested one arm on the table.

Several patrons had already approached them.

Some congratulated Bulldozer for surviving such a brutal opponent.

Most congratulated Trigona for defeating him.

Each time someone approached, Trigona smiled politely and thanked them. Bulldozer usually responded with a shrug and a chuckle, clearly unbothered by the loss.

Once the crowd's excitement died down and people returned to their own conversations, the two gladiators continued talking.

Trigona had been asking Bulldozer question after question.

When she had been younger, she had heard stories about him. The large construction-built gladiator who could take hits like a tank and dish them out twice as hard.

But she had never actually met him before today.

And now she was fascinated. "So," Trigona said as she rested her chin against her hand, "what was your very first fight like?" Bulldozer chuckled, the deep rumble vibrating in his chest. "You mean my first fight?" She nodded eagerly.
