LANEY'S POV

"Surely there's got to be a gas station or something hiring somewhere." Izzy said, lying comfortably on my unmade bed.

Izzy lived in the room next to mine, we'd bumped into each other a couple days ago and our friendship sparked quickly.

"Yeah, I've been searching for places around the area. No one seems to be needing any help though..." I sighed.

"Maybe I could be like a manager for Jon's band or something." I suggested in defeat.

"I dunno, are they even big enough for a manager yet?" She asked.

"I really don't know. He doesn't really talk about the band much." I replied, feeling let down by the lack of money I had.

Just then, my phone buzzed.

"Hello?"

"Guess who just got a record deal?" Jonathan's cheery voice sang through the phone.

Did he just read my mind?

"What! No way. Which label?" I beamed, covering my mouth.

"Sony Music." He answered enthusiastically

"What, that's amazing!" I smiled with a cheerful tone.

"Hell yeah. We're going out tonight to celebrate, are you gonna be free?" He asked.

"As I'll ever be." I chuckled.

"Alright, want me to pick you up?"

"Sure." I smiled softly.

"Alright, see you soon baby." He swooned.

My stomach twisted at his words. He really knew how to get me flustered. I couldn't wait to see his pretty face. Ugh.

"Alright, bye." I hummed, flipping my phone shut.

"Well, maybe I could be the manager for his band." I looked up in thought.

"Hey gorgeous." He smirked playfully.

Recently, Jon had taken a liking to using the word gorgeous, which constantly kept me flustered.

"Hi." I smiled bright as I sat down into the seat of his car.

There was moment of silence as he backed out and drove onto the road.

"Oh, did I tell you that we might be touring soon?" He spoke abruptly.

"What, no. When?" A wide grin spread across my face.

"Maybe in a couple months. I dunno, the guy said it could be up to a year before we could tour, but still!" He exclaimed.

"That's great." I smiled.

"Yeah, I'm really excited to see how everything plays out for us." He smiled softly with content.

"I'm really happy everything is working out." I hummed gently, gazing at his happy expression.

"Thanks baby." He looked over to me with that grin of his as his hand slid onto my thigh.

Soon enough, we'd pulled into the parking lot of a nearby bar, where we'd meet the rest of the band inside.

"Ay, look who it is." A man jumped up enthusiastically to greet Jon.
