Holding hands, Amanda and Luka stepped into the Green Garden together. They joined the table where Anna and Gabriel were sitting.
Anna gave them a warm look. "If it's not madness, it's not love - Pedro Calderon De la Barca," Anna said with a smile.
"If Pedro says so," Amanda commented.
"Happy New Year," Gabriel smiled, breaking the tension.
"Happy," Luka said with a gentle smile.
"I need to go back to Wheelz. I shouldn't be seen here. It's counterproductive for my job," Anna said.
"I'll go with you," Luka said.
"You don't have to."
"But I want to," he looked at her warmly.
"Let's all go!" Anna said, visibly happy. "I'm curious about what's happening there."
It was chaos in Wheelz. The space was half the size of the Green Garden and packed. The DJ played Confusion, the music theme from the movie Blade. The space was bursting at the seams, packed to the exit doors. Drunken laughter and screams mixed with the rhythm of the music, creating a chaotic but incredibly lively scene. Bodies twisted and turned to the rhythm of the music as if they were completely out of control. The dancing was so wild that the light installations trembled to the beat, creating an epileptic spectacle. Everyone was themselves, yet at the same time, all were one in the chaos of euphoria. They barely made it to the bar.
"Amanda," Leon yelled, smiling from ear to ear. "I'm exhausted, but look at this madness. The crew doesn't stop. I love you!" he sent her kisses.
Luka growled, wrapping his arm around her. He gave Leon a stern look. Leon raised his hands in surrender.
"Don't worry, buddy, I know she's yours."
"You missed the fireworks!" he addressed Amanda again.
"Oliver was fantastic. You know those tricks he does with light. Well, this was out of this world. I think tonight he didn't just capture the hearts of women," he chuckled.
"What are you drinking? The house is treating," Leon offered.
"I'm not feeling well," Amanda said. "I think it's stress or maybe I picked up a virus. I can barely stand on my feet. I can't drink anything."
"Maybe you're feeling sick because you finally relaxed, and there's no air in here," Anna commented.
"Shall we go home?" Luka asked her.
"Where's home?"
"Wherever you want. Home is where you are."
Amanda kissed him gently. "Take me home, please."
As soon as they entered the house, she kicked off her shoes. "God, I'm getting old. I don't handle high heels as well as before."
Luka chuckled and lifted her into his arms. He carried her to the bedroom and gently laid her on the bed. "Let me massage those old feet."
He started gently massaging her feet.
"You're old!" she laughed.
"Luka?"
"Yes?"
"How old are you?"
"Thirty-two."
"And Gabriel?"
"The same."
"And Marcus?"
