Rowan hadn't had the best life. It wasn't bad per se. She knew that it could have been much much worse. She had friends who had it much worse than she ever did. But that didn't mean her life was easy.
She blamed her birth for that. It didn't matter if you had done nothing wrong in your entire life, if you had the misfortune of having a god for a parent, your life was already fucked.
So when her friends just drop from the ceiling in her school and there's a letter saying that they were about to listen to books about a few demigods and their lives, yeah she wasn't having an amazing time. But then again, Rowan had never had the best life. Because when one of your parents was a god, your life was already fucked.
