"What is that jerk's deal ?" Will rolled his eyes as he held around Rowan's shoulders.

"He's in love with Rowan," Nico said. His boyfriend and one of the girls he viewed as a big sister blinked at him. He rolled his eyes. "It's so obvious guys."

"It is ?"

"Yep. Also, at this point, most people have had a crush on Percy or Rowan at least once in their lives."

"Who has a crush on Percy or Rowan ?" Annabeth asked from her seat next to Jason.

"Potter has a crush on Rowan," Nico explained as the trio sat down. Rowan grabbed the box from Will and opened it, while Nico explained what he and his boyfriend had witnessed.

"I'm going to kill him," Jason growled.

"No," Rowan got up and sat on his lap to keep him in place. "You are going to stay right here because going and beating him up, as fun as that would be to watch, it would make you come across as insecure about our relationship. Are you insecure about our relationship ?"

"That's like asking if you're ugly," Jason rolled his eyes. "No."

"Good. Here," she handed him his sketchbook. "For later. Now gimme," she held out her hand.

Jason had finally admitted defeated and wondered if his girlfriend would be offended if he took the nail paint off. Rowan had just smiled and admitted that she wouldn't have been offended if asked within five minutes of her putting it on him. The fact that he was willing to indulge her already meant everything to her.

So he placed one of his hand into hers. She carefully started removing the paint with nail polish removing wipes when the book opened again.

Chapter 7: I Accept Gifts From A Stranger

"Percy..." Sally and Remus warned.

The boy held out his hands as if to calm them down. "No, no, you'll approve of this one."

The duo shared a look, unconvinced.

The way Tantalus saw it, the Stymphalian birds had simply been minding their own business in the woods and would not have attacked if Annabeth, Tyson, and I hadn't disturbed them with our bad chariot driving. They became worse when Rowan joined the fray.

This was so completely unfair, I told Tantalus to go chase a doughnut, which didn't help his mood. He sentenced us to kitchen patrol—scrubbing pots and platters all afternoon in the underground kitchen with the cleaning harpies. The harpies washed with lava instead of water, to get that extra-clean sparkle and kill ninety-nine point nine percent of all germs, so Rowan, Annabeth and I had to wear asbestos gloves and aprons.

"That is so unfair !"

"Not nice !"

"Why is Rowan being punished ?" Blaise demanded. "She wasn't even racing !"
