I hear my phone ring and I stir from my sleep. Oh, shit, it's John. I clear my throat as if to sound like I had already been awake, and then answer the call.
"Hey, John. Everything okay?" Damn it, I sound confused. He probably thinks that I don't trust him, now. Shit.
"Yeah, yeah, everything's fine," He says, quickly, trying to dismiss any doubt I he thought I had. "I was just going to talk about tonight's details with you, make sure everything sounds alright."
"Oh, of course!" Well, that sounded better than the last comment I made.
"Well, I was thinking we could go to this pizza place I really dig, and then I could show you around downtown, does that sound okay?" Oh, my god, he is so cute.
"Yeah, that sounds wonderful, John. I'm really excited." I reply, smiling. "So I should just dress casually, right? I don't want to look out of place. The last thing I want is to draw attention to myself" I nervously laugh and scratch my arm.
"Casual is fine. However, considering how pretty you are, I'm sure you'll get a little attention no matter what you wear." I feel my cheeks flush and I let out a small giggle.
"Wow, thank you. I'm sure you will too, with those eyes of yours." Oh god, that sounded so dumb.
"What's wrong with my eyes?" He exclaims. I bite my lip to keep from laughing.
"Nothing is wrong with your eyes, you big dope. I was saying they're hard to miss. They're gorgeous." I blush at my own compliment to him, feeling a little vulnerable from it.
"Oh, right. Well, thank you," He replies. "You'll get to see them later on tonight. I was thinking that I could get you at six instead of six thirty. That alright?"
"That's perfect. I'll see you tonight." I say.
"Yes, you will. Bye, Lyrick." He replies and I have to stifle a laugh. That was the dorkiest comment ever.
"Goodbye, John." I reply, hanging up the phone quickly so I can laugh out loud.
Oh my god, John is such a dork.
Alright, so this is a pizza date. What am I supposed to wear on a pizza date? I've never been on a date before! What am I supposed to do?! I sigh loudly and haul myself out of my bed to look through my disappointing clothing choices on display in my closet.
