Pushing the ballroom doors open, the pair spotted Morticia sitting with Gomez beside her, cello between her knees and bow in hand, while Wednesday's cello sat against a chair beside them, memories from her childhood coming flooding back as she took it all in, remembering playing for her parents who beamed and clapped enthusiastically just for being able to draw the bow over the strings.

She remembered playing with her mother, Morticia patiently showing her how as Wednesday's little fingers and hands struggled to grip the large instrument, but continued with a single minded determinedness and stubbornness, if only to prove that she could.

"Mother, what are you planning?" Wednesday asked.

"I simply wish to test your skills and discuss a few things with you, darling." Morticia replied evenly.

"What are you angling for, mother?" Wednesday asked with a sceptical glare.

"Relax, darling." Morticia said gently, eyes flicking over to Enid who was tensing beside her mate, feeling Wednesday's unease as her own. "Now, sit so we can play."

Resigning herself to this ridiculous ploy, Wednesday turned to Enid who had, unbeknownst to her, wrapped her arms around her shorter mate.

"You may stay and watch if you wish." She said softly, reaching up to cup her cheek, gently rubbing her thumb over it.

Enid swallowed and nodded guiltily, knowing she was in no state to be separated from Wednesday any time soon.

Reaching out to brush her thumb over Wednesday's earlobe, Enid pressed her forehead against her mates, cautiously hopeful despite being right in front of her parents.

"It's okay if you don't-" Enid started to say before Wednesday pulled her down and kissed her firmly, brushing her thumb over the signet ring on Enid's right hand, feeling Enid's lips twitch into a small smile as her arms wrapped tighter around her.

Pulling back, Wednesday couldn't help but smirk when she felt Enid chase her lips with a cheeky giggle, pecking them one last time before letting her go.

"It's wonderful to see you miserable, my little storm cloud." Gomez said softly, words full of such love.

Wednesday paused for a few moments, considering his words, before ultimately resigning herself to the fact he was indeed correct.

"I suppose you are right. I am." She murmured softly, a tender smile in the corners of her mouth as she heard Enid whimper whine softly before she started purring hard, holding her mate almost painfully tight against her. "Enid, kindly release me before you break my bones. I doubt you'd forgive yourself for it."

"Sorry! Sorry!" She immediately blurted out, loosening her hold around Wednesday.

"I know. You are not in full control of your strength. I am not mad." Wednesday whispered just loud enough for her blonde wolf to hear.

Her parents silently watched the exchange, smiling as they witnessed their usually closed off daughter being so considerate and gentle with her newly bonded mate, openly showing affection despite everyone in the family knowing how touch averse she was, some even having a few scars as reminders.

But this unassuming blonde werewolf, barely taller than their own daughter, had clearly captured her heart and melded it with her own, bright colours and all.

If only they could be honest with each other and admit their feelings.

But as much as it was a delightful torture to watch them dance around the words, love could not be rushed.

And the Addams elders ultimately knew it wasn't their place to meddle.

"Come, my darling. Show me your skills." Morticia beckoned, gesturing to the empty chair with Wednesday's cello against it.
