I placed the fork and spoon on the table with a decisive slap and shifted my gaze toward Allison. She returned my look with an inscrutable expression on her face.

Allison had been staying here with us for the past few days, and during this time, she had been consistently pleasant, surprisingly. I was expecting lots of drama but nothing.

"Aren't you going to eat that? You haven't touched anything. If you want something, I can quickly fix it for you," Allison asked, pointing to my untouched breakfast.

I shook my head. "The food is delicious," I confessed, having taken a few bites that were undeniably heavenly.

"Then?" Allison seemed genuinely curious.

"I was just wondering why I am here," I admitted truthfully, opting for transparency in our conversation. The absence of Hades, who had left early in the morning, was a relief, making me less on edge.

Allison stared at me for a moment, then chuckled in amusement, shaking her head as if I had just cracked a joke. Annoyance crept over me, a sentiment I couldn't deny or hid from my face because Allison doubled her laughter and exclaimed.

"You are so cute when your angry,"

Although I am not good with compliments and always make me an awkward and shy mess, I didn't react at all this time.

"Don't worry about it," she reassured me.

"I have to worry about it when it affects me," I asserted, my tone demanding as I maintained a firm expression.

Allison examined my face with her beautiful gray eyes, briefly chewing on her lower lip.

"Fine," She breathed out, pausing for a moment before adding, "But in a bit."

I nodded with some hesitation, acknowledging that I had no grounds to complain. It was better to gain some information than none at all.

"Hades is my real son," she disclosed, spearing the last piece of omelet on her fork.

The revelation that Hades was Allison's son made him Adam's uncle, but I decided not to dwell on the complexities. Allison was poised to provide answers to my curiosity.

"And?" I trailed, testing my luck.

"One at a time," Allison said in a singsong tone.

Allison seemed unusually delightful, contrasting sharply with my own feelings. Despite her denial, I still attempted to inquire further, but she quickly interjected.

"Darling, finish your breakfast. I have to be somewhere," she declared, rising from her chair.

Before I could respond, she hastily bid me farewell and swiftly departed.

Staring at my plate with a mix of disappointment and frustration, I resumed eating, my eyes moist with emotion. I found myself transformed into a sensitive mess these days, yearning to retreat to my bed and release the tears that felt on the verge of overflowing. It seemed as though my world had crumbled completely.

To fill my time, I've been occupied with household chores. Currently, I was in the midst of mopping after completing other tasks when Hades entered the room.

Hades carried himself with an air of commanding self-confidence, a trait I lacked immensely. This explained why his presence made me uneasy, like a bundle of nerves.

He was completely engrossed in a phone conversation, his deep velvety tone sent shivers down my spine as he angrily conveyed his message to the person at the other end.
