"Getting impatient, huh?" Adrian's voice, filled with humor, remarked.

Before Austin could respond, Hades and Adam entered the room, exuding dominance and control, intensifying the already tense atmosphere.

I couldn't help but wonder if they, too, had come searching for Austin, presuming he would be here since he wasn't in his room.

Also, their uninvited presence irritated me apart from making me uncomfortable. While they might have a claim to the entire ship, it didn't give them the right to barge in and act as they pleased when the room was currently mine. Well, not mine alone, but it was still under my control, even if shared with others.

Without uttering a word, they claimed the small, soft set in the left corner opposite to where I was. Only a Pepsi and popcorn were left for them to grab and enjoy the ongoing drama.

"Where is he?" Austin inquired after a few minutes of silence, his voice betraying impatience.

I couldn't blame him. The person who had killed his mom was still set free, maybe living her best life. The thought alone is enough to push anyone insane.

I couldn't fathom what could drive someone to take another person's life so callously, as if it meant nothing.

Adrian rested his hand on Austin's shoulder. "Impatience kicking in again?"

I couldn't ignore the subtle clenching of Austin's jaw. It was evident that Adrian was purposefully testing Austin's patience. Were they aiming to trigger Austin into a reaction? And if so, why?

In all honesty and straightforwardness, their strange behavior was somehow connected to me.

"Sorry, boss."

Adrian patted Austin's shoulder repeatedly before withdrawing his hand into his pocket.

"The man will be yours, but there's a favor you'll need to do for us too," he stated, his tone now grave.

Austin's slightly dropped head shot up abruptly. A perplexed frown marked his face, as if he couldn't grasp why these powerful people cared about his revenge. I wasn't sure how long Austin had been working for them, but it seemed he remained oblivious to their true nature. On the other hand, having spent a brief period in their company, I was well aware of nature. Nothing positive would come from this deal. Dealing with devils is a risky game. Always have been and always will be.

One might argue that I called them unpredictable earlier, yet now I claim to comprehend them. Let me simplify: while their knowledge remains uncertain, what's certain is that they will unleash destruction.

"Did you sleep with her?" Adrian asked shamelessly.

An involuntary gasp escaped my lips, causing both of them to briefly glance in my direction. Thankfully, the attention quickly shifted back to one another.

Austin seemed as taken aback as I was, his mouth opening and closing in uncertainty. Adrian's back was turned to me, hiding his expression.

"What?" Austin asked, sounding unsure.

"I asked if you've slept with her," Adrian repeated, his tone suggesting that Austin should have easily understood such a straightforward question.

Austin's eyes locked with mine when he turned in my direction, breaking his gaze with Adrian. For some reason, he held my stare, perhaps silently asking for assistance on how to respond. I attempted to express my refusal, but I was utterly speechless and tongue-in-cheek; all I could do was tighten my grip around my knees, pulling them closer to my chest.
