Edward Black
The youngest billionaire, widely recognized for his charitable efforts. I'd seen him countless times in photos and on TV, but never in person until now.
Seeing him in the flesh, I realized that the pictures and videos never quite captured his true appearance. Edward is stunning. His striking hazel eyes have a mysterious, captivating quality, set against his jet-black hair and a jawline so sharp it could cut glass. Even through his shirt, the outline of his eight-pack abs was unmistakable, suggesting a body honed with strict discipline.
The man seemed almost otherworldly, as if crafted by a divine hand, and I am not exaggerating.
Edward is a heartthrob, a sinfully handsome living temptation.
Yet today, I discovered that his appearance is not the only sin—his actions are far more sinister. I never imagined and it's shocking to realize that a man known for his charitable work could be hiding such an unspeakable side.
Edward approached with an air of authority in a confident stride and settled into the chair to the left of Allison. At first, she didn't notice him and seemed slightly irritated by the sudden intrusion, but her expression quickly shifted to a warm, bright smile when she realized who he was. They started talking right away, their conversation.
My mind burned with curiosity, wondering what secrets they were sharing.
A sudden grip on my hand jolted me out of my reverie and back to reality. It was Adrian, obviously. He wasn't looking at me, his focus fixed on the stage ahead.
I was growing bored. I still had no idea what this gathering was about, but it was clearly something unpleasant.
"I need to go to the restroom," I said, looking at Adrian with a weary expression.
You never know what might set his brother off. Even the smallest thing could trigger a reaction.
Adrian kept his eyes fixed ahead for what felt like an eternity, finally turning to look at me. His gaze was cold and gauging, as if I'd made an unreasonable request.
"I can walk," I quickly added when I saw him starting to rise from his seat.
He regarded me with a skeptical frown and doubt flickering in his eyes. I forced a sweet and gentle smile, trying to appear composed, hoping it would ease his suspicion, and internally cringed at the thought of how foolish I might seem.
"Five minutes, no more," he said, pulling out his phone and immediately becoming engrossed in it.
"Okay," I mumbled, standing up.
A sharp pain shot through my feet as I took the first step, and I almost hissed in discomfort. Though the pain had improved over the past two days, it was still there. Adrian had been my legs, carrying me everywhere like I was a helpless child on so I didn't realize just walking alone is painful.
I steadied myself, gritting my teeth against the stinging sensation, and began to limp toward the exit. Whatever was about to unfold, I had no desire to witness it. Even a brief escape felt like a breath of fresh air.
*********
I had just exited the restroom when I collided with someone. Standing before me was a stunning woman in a vibrant red dress, her lipstick matching perfectly. As I was taking in her appearance, a sharp voice cut through the air.
"Who are you?"
"None of your business," I retorted.
I hadn't intended to be so curt, but her harsh tone immediately set me off.
