Not wanting to get into more trouble than I already am, I tilted my head to glance at him and gasped at the intensity of the gray eyes. They were as piercing as the gray clouds that you find on rainy days, especially the thundering ones surrounded by darkness.
Adrian's large hand shot out, yanking me harshly into his chest. My left hand grabbed his shirt, trying to steady myself.
"I had so many things planned for us," he announced, a fleeting smile on his face quickly replaced by a scowl, leaving me paler.
"Such a shame," his thick, deep voice, tinged with his accent, ignored my pale expression, or maybe he didn't notice it.
"I-I," I stammered, feeling compelled to speak.
Adrian let out a breathy chuckle at my feeble attempt to speak, sending shivers down my spine.
When did I become so fearful?
Adrian's expression turned serious again, a tsk escaping him, and I gulped, feeling the tension rise.
"But you had to be naughty," he murmured huskily, arms wrapping around my waist to draw me closer.
My heart skipped a beat at his words, and I averted my gaze, unsure of what to say. I am feeling out of the place at the moment.
"Since everyone makes mistakes," his words stirred my curiosity, and I looked uncertainly at Adrian. I couldn't decipher his intentions, but he seemed set on playing his twisted game.
Leaning in, Adrian sniffed my neck, warmth spreading through me at his proximity. I could feel his excitement against my stomach, my heart racing with fear and my breathing ragged. I struggled to control my breathing. I didn't want Adrian to hear it and have any idea about the effect he had on me.
Suddenly Adrian groaned lowly. Oh god...
'It's okay... it's okay,' I chanted inwardly, trying to ignore the strange and embarrassing noises he was making.
Just as I started to regain a bit of control over my emotions, his hand groped my ass and squeezed tightly, eliciting a sharp gasp from me. Adrian didn't stop, instead pressed his warm lips against my neck. I shut my eyes at the familiar yet odd sensation. I doubt I could ever become accustomed to the feeling.
"Please," I managed to utter the word.
A deep chuckle rumbles from his chest. "Please what?" he murmured lowly into my ear, his warm breath tickling me.
"Stop," I struggled to keep the tremor out of my voice.
It felt surreal when his grip loosened. I was so taken aback that I stood there motionless for almost a minute, dreading he would snap at me before cautiously stepping back, seeking some personal space. Feeling awkward, my eyes, which were unblinking, staring at him in the fear of being attacked, turned to the side, now suddenly unable to meet his gaze.
"As I was saying, everyone makes mistakes, so I'm going to give you a chance," Adrian stated.
He clearly was waiting for my response as silence enveloped us. I wanted to speak, but I felt too disoriented at the moment.
"Where are your manners? Aren't you going to thank me?" His cold, deep voice pierced through the silence, causing me to crane my head up to look at him, his eyes fixed on me.
"T-Thank you," I stuttered.
Adrian's lips curled up at the left corner with a hint of mischievousness and amusement dancing in his captivating gray eyes. The way his mood shifted from one extreme to the other was unsettling. You could never fully trust someone so mercurial.
