Chapter 7: A Peaceful Maiden's Place

THIRD PERSON'S POV

The Maiden's Place is the home of all of the men and women who belong to the Emperor. It is also a home for the future successors and even the predecessors lived inside of it.

From the heart of the Grand Hall, on the left side is the way to the Maiden's Place. It is behind the Open Study Area and the Scholars Office and Library. It means that all of the Women, Children, and Wives of the Emperor of the Court live in this area, even the Mothers, Stepmothers, and Grandmothers of the Emperor reside here. The only group who can enter this site are the In-Command Soldiers, Kim Mingyu, Jeon Wonwoo, and most importantly the Emperor.

If the common people deliver goods to the Kitchen or other parts of the Maiden's Place they need to give them to the Commander's Office for inspection before Kim Mingyu commands his soldiers to deliver them to the Maiden's Place, except if it is for the High-Ranking Officials resides the place.

The first thing that you will notice after entering the fortress of the Maiden's Place is the Banquet Hall for the Maiden. Here the Banquet Hall is most commonly used for festive occasions, birthday celebrations of the Princes and Princesses, and formal events like weddings. The side of the hall is a 50-meter-long open house, and it is the Royal Kitchen.

After passing the Banquet Hall the next house is the Empress Dowager's Residence, they chose to place it in front of the Banquet Hall to make the elderly walk to her place faster.

After the Empress Dowager's is the Empress Residence. Empress' House is the tallest House among all inside the Maiden's Place. Hong Jisoo can see the Forest of Nam while standing in the attic of his house. The House has 5 floors and Jisoo can view all of the houses in Maiden's Place.

Next is the Royal Children Residence, the residence has 3 houses.
First is the Crown Prince's/Princess' House. And since there are no Crown Princes and Princesses currently residing here, it is locked.
It is also where Young Crown Prince Seungcheol lived and grew up, then Hong Jisoo also resided when the Former Emperor was still alive.

The second house is the Grand Princes and Princesses House and Quarters, the younger siblings of the Emperor live here. The current Grand Prince who is the brother of Emperor Seungcheol is out of the country, the house is also closed.

The last house of the Royal Children's Residence is the Princes and Princesses House and Quarters, this house is for the children of the Emperor to his Concubines, this is also closed due to the half-sisters and brothers of the Emperor getting married and going to their spouses' home. The only parts of the house that are open are the playground for the low-born children can enjoy their life as a kid, and the nursery room.

Next to the Royal Children's Residence is the Royal Senior Concubine's Residence, Yoon Jeonghan's Residence is the widest and largest residence since it occupies a large area of land that shows the scenery of marketplace, this is also placed at the crest of a low hill that making this as the highest elevated place in terms of land.

On the right pathway are Concubines from 2-9's Residences, which have 40s square meters of each house per concubine. The concubines always wish that they were the Royal Senior Concubine because of the big place. And some of them hate the small space given to them.

Walking 505 meters from the Concubines Houses is the Medicine and Recovery Area of The Royals, from the name itself, this is the Hospital of the Palace. It may look so far from the Grand Hall but there is a shortcut that can be used for emergencies.

The Senior Maids Quarters is the place where the elderly maids stay. They are the ones who are on the Royal Family's side, especially on the women's and men's side. They are the ones who punish the lower maids because of their unreasonable mistakes.
