Chapter 17: The Fall of Baekje and The Execution

Third Person's POV

After the Nobles and the Royal Family of Baekje arrived in the Grand Hall, they are being investigated and the execution is granted after it.

The King died after the investigation as it was severely sick during his reign. The people theorized that his wife, The Queen, slowly poisons him to death.

After the death of her husband, Queen Bom is executed by drinking poison, which she gladly accepts and cursing the Empire.

The nobles on the other hand are hanged in the public as the people throw rocks to them as they shows hatred to them. The people are mad at those traitors because they are the one who destroy their lives, their business as the war begins, and the slavery that these families did to the people.
One of the nobles that was hanged is Lord Kwon, father of Kwon Soonyoung and Lady Kwon.

The judgement to the Empress and Dokyeom is debatable.

The ministry wants the Empress to be deposed, the councilors want him to be dead. And the military wants him to be deposed but they are still contemplating about it since Jisoo might do chaos if he planned it.

On Dokyeom's state, they want him to be executed. But Seungcheol is the one who disagree about the decision.

"Your Majesty, please listen to us." The ministry begins to chant as plead to the Emperor.

"You should stamp his execution, Your Majesty..." The man on the military said as he bows.

"Please, Your Majesty! Listen to us!" they all bow to him.

Seungcheol is in deep thoughts.
"Let us talk about this next day." He insisted and stood up to his throne before walking out to the hall.

"Please, save my brother..." Jeonghan said as he bows to Seungcheol. Pleading to pardon his younger brother who he treated as.

"I beg for your forgiveness, Your Majesty..." He cried. "He doesn't know what kind of act he did."

"Jeonghan, stand up!" Seungcheol commanded the younger but he didn't move.

"No, I won't." Jeonghan said as he bows.

His belly hurts as the baby was pressed down. His belly is big enough and visible to the public eyes. But, he doesn't care. He needs Seokmin to be alive.

Seungcheol reaches for his husband and lifted his upper body.
"It might hurt you..." He said, ignoring Jeonghan's plead.

"Seungcheol..." Jeonghan sobs. "Please, save him."

Seungcheol holds the younger's hand,
"Forgive me, my love," Seungcheol's eyes starts to tear up. Bringing a bad news to Jeonghan pained him.

Jeonghan cries more. "No! Save him!"

Seungcheol shush his husband,
"They decision was made... They want him to be executed." Jeonghan was devastated on what he heard to his husband's mouth.

Seungcheol have the power to help Seokmin but his people will be mad at him if he didn't listen to them.

They have the rights to say their opinion about the chaos, because they are also affected. It is not in Seungcheol's hands to prevent it.

For Seungcheol, his people is important rather than his own feelings. But, some limitations can be done. And this limitations cannot help his husband.
