Chapter 16: The Fate

Third Person's POV

After Seungcheol and Chan found the bodies of Soonyoung and Jihoon, the news spread to the Palace. Especially in the Maiden's Palace, wherein Jihoon is known for being a kind, loving, and caring person to all.

The people inside the Maiden's Palace are crying and screaming for Jihoon's name. They are all devastated, and their friends, Wonwoo and Mingyu, share their sentiments about the loss of their dearest friend.

The Emperor commands that the couple should be buried together, which makes a mixed reaction among the people.

The Ruthless Swordsman doesn't deserve to be with the White Little Fox that they loved. The people conclude that Soonyoung killed their lovely Jihoon, and some made a tale that Soonyoung protected Jihoon until their death. But nobody knows what happened.

"They are pitiful..." a petite man spoke as he watched the people cry.

"You think they are?" A thickly accented man replied.

"Yeah," the petite man nodded as he played his dagger. "They only loved each other at the wrong time."

"Well, do you love me Minghao?" The man asked and the petite man named Minghao smiled.

"I love you but we have our mission to do, Jun." He said and hid his dagger in his shoes. "Let's go... We need to get Jisoo."

"Haaaa... Why do we agree to this kind of work, Minghao?" Jun asked as he followed the younger.

"We need to trust Jeonghan..." Minghao said as he smiled. "Jeonghan knows his future. He secured his future with us."

"He made this life confusing..."

The war is favored by Seungcheol. The nobles and the family of Baekje are slowly captured and investigated.

Seungcheol is still busy with the war and his military, which helps him to secure his place.

"Royal Senior Concubine Yoon is here, Your Majesty!" Seungcheol looked up from the map that he observed for hours.

"I am busy---" the door was forced to open as it showed the Concubine.

Seungcheol watches his husband walk towards him as the guards prevent him.

"Remove your hands against mine or you will be punished." Jeonghan strongly commanded the guards.

"Your Highness..." the guards pleased but Jeonghan then removed their arms to him.

The guards tried to prevent him, but Seungcheol spoke. "Let him, and go outside."

"Yes, Your Majesty." the guards bowed to them and left.

Seungcheol observes his husband; his cheeks look too full, and he also gains weight, unlike the last time they saw each other.

Jeonghan's brows were furrowed, and his fists were evident to the side of his body. Showing Seungcheol his displease.

"You look so cuddly right now, my dear," Seungcheol spoke and smiled.

"I don't want you to hug me," Jeonghan replied. "Why does Jihoon should be buried with Soonyoung? Where is Jisoo?"

Seungcheol rests his back and closes his fists together.

"Jihoon's first and last love was Soonyoung..." Seungcheol starts to tell Jeonghan about the couple.

Jeonghan's face slowly softened as he heard Jihoon's name.
