chapter 17

-nova's pov-

i'm back in the quiet part of the arena i was at before i went out pacing

zelina-"you puta, why didn't you tell me?"
"tell you what?" i stop pacing but tap my foot and pick at my fingers

zelina-"it was about dom"
"uh- what?"
"the last time you had a panic attack it was because you were nervous because it was your first time here, any other time it was because of a guy or anything else you were nervous about now spill"

i sigh and tell her everything i was worried about with him

zelina-"baby i promise he still likes you, after he tried checking on you he came to me because he was worried"
"he could be doing it in a friendly way.. he can still have a girlfriend we don't know about"
"i highly doubt that, now let's go to catering"
i sigh and we go

-catering-

we walk in zelina sees judgment at their table and grabs my hand as we go over

damian-"hey, you okay?"
"yeah"
finn-"you sure?"
"positive, i had something in my eye before i went out and it took a while to get it out"
"alright.."
rhea-"hey, i gotta use the bathroom, come with me?"
"sure?"

-bathroom-

"want me to wait out here?"
"no come in" she drags me in
"if you wanted to get freaky we could've just left" we each let an airy laugh out

rhea-"i know damn well you didn't have anything in your eye, now spill"
"it's not that serious"
"it caused you a panic attack, what's wrong?"
"you have to promise not to say a single word, and you know know i take my promises seriously"
"yes ma'am, i promise not to say anything"
i sigh and tell her

rhea-"aww baby" she hugs me "i promise there's not another girl or anything and you're the only one he has his eyes on"
"how do you know though"
"the way he looks at you, talks about you, everything, the signs are there you just need to open your eyes"
"but what if-"
"get off those what ifs he only has eyes for you, i promise"

i know she wouldn't just throw those words out at me if she didn't mean it so i nod my head and we go back to the others

damian-"did you have her hold your hand while you shit?"
rhea-"yeah and what about it?"
"do you know how many people would pay to be me?"
damian-"yall are gross" we all laugh

i keep sneaking glances at dom and i guess rhea notices then she signals for me to talk to him but i shake my head and she just rolls her eyes

-after smackdown-

zelina and i are loading the car up and like always smile and wave at the fans
then i hear

"nova!" i look at zelina wide eyed and she nods her head
i take a deep breath and walk to him in the dark corner for privacy

dom-"i just wanted to check on you"
"im fine"
"you didn't seem fine, you know you can talk to me right?"
"i know and i appreciate that so much," i grab his hands  "but i just don't think right now is the appropriate time"
"why not?"
i take another deep breath "it's just not, but i promise one day ill tell you, it may not be tomorrow, it may be next month but i promise, i'll tell you one day"
"take all the time you need hermosa, im not going anywhere anytime soon" he cups one side of my face and we look into each others eyes

i want to kiss him so badly..
but i can't
at least not now
so i just kiss his cheek like always

"thank you for being understanding but i have to go before zelina gets mad.. ill see you soon" then i go to the car and tell zelina what happened

-dom's pov-

why didn't i kiss her?
should i have kissed her?
i wish she would've told me what caused her panic attack, i want to be there for her
i am there for her, right?
i just go to the rental car with the others and we go back to the hotel

-the next day, nova's pov-

i get woken up by zelina shaking my bed

"chill out"
"wake up, we're hanging out with everyone today"
"i don't want to do anything"
"come on, it'll be fun and good for you"
"i don't want to do anything, you go though and tell everyone i send my love"
"fine.. let me know if you change your mind"
"i will, i love you"
"i love you too" she then leaves and i go back to sleep

-zelina's pov-

i leave and see our group

"hey guys!"
they all say hey back
dom-"where's nova?"
"she said she didn't want to do anything today but she sends her love to everyone"
rhea-"she okay?"
"probably just tired, i told her to text me if she changes her mind though so we'll see"
cathy-"alright.. hopefully she changes her mind i can't wait till monday to see her"
rhea-"right"
we get in the rental car and head to the mall
dom's been quiet and on his phone the whole ride

-dom's pov-

is this my fault?
did i do something?
did i make her uncomfortable?
i cant take it anymore so i text her

'hey hermosa, zelina said you weren't feeling well so i wanted to check in'
surprisingly she texts back

nova<3-'im okay thanks for checking in :) just not feeling well'
'do you need any medicine or anything?'
'no i'm okay for now, thank you though, now get off your phone and hang out with everyone!'
'it's so boring without you though :('
'you'll be fine quapo, i'll probably see you at the airport and if not i'll see you monday <3'
'fineee, get some rest though, see you soon hermosa :)'
