LOCATION: Subway Tunnels

The sound of gunfire echoed through the miles of subway tunnels- Natasha couldn't believe that she was having to do this, hours ago she had been working with Jill and Carlos to get these civilians out of the city- now they were Zombies and she was having to gun them down.
From the brief glimpse Natasha caught of Carlos's expression she could tell that he had the same thought
"This is officially the worst fucking day ever!" Carlos exclaimed- it was a statement that Black Widow completely agreed with.
The undead crawled from out of the burning wreck that had once been the subway train-
The two of them push their attacks closer wanting to get through this as quickly as they can,
Carlos didn't want to look too closely at the bodies in case he spotted anyone that he recognised.
Natasha switched to her Glocks as she shot at the Zombies that were host to a giant tentacled parasite, one of them slashed its barbed tentacle towards Natasha slashing through the material on her arm and drawing a fine drip of blood-
Natasha fired with her dead aim bursting the parasite in a single shot,
"You ok?" Carlos asked as Black Widow quickly forced a fresh magazine into her rifle
"Fine" she assured him. Carlos side stepped as an on fire Zombie attempted to grab him, Carlos kicked the flaming corpse backwards.
The fire fight felt like it went on for ages, as one Zombie dropped another one crawled out of the wreck- then suddenly there was silence, the only noise that filled the darkness was their heavy ragged breathing
"Shit" Carlos sighed- Natasha cautiously approached the fiery wreck she nudged some of the bullet filled corpses with her foot, but it seemed like they had got them all.
"Jesus Christ- it looks like someone exploded in here" Carlos remarked at he looked at the remnants of the train car-
Natasha didn't want to look too closely into that, she climbed into the next car that was currently on its side 'No bodies in here' Natasha thought to herself,
"Uh Natasha- Ms Romanoff, you're bleeding" Carlos stuttered as he noticed the trail of dark red that the Avenger was leaving
"Oh it's where that thing scratched me" she remarked although looking at her arm again- she saw that it was deeper than just a scratch.
She removed some of the bandages and a small bottle antiseptic out of her pockets, she poured the burning liquid over the wound
'Lucky for me the parasite isn't able to transit the infection through scratch' she thought to herself as she gritted her teeth at the sudden burning sensation
"I can do that" Carlos insisted as he took the small roll of bandages an wrapped them around the cut on her arm-
He made sure to do it tight as he noticed the substantial amount of blood she was leaving behind her 'How'd she not even notice?' he wondered
"What was that thing in the Zombie- I've not noticed it on any of the others" he asked as Natasha briefly checked his first aid skills
"Those things are an implanted parasite from the B.O.W- Jill and I saw it putting them in to the Zombies"
Carlos cringed, every new fact he learned about that B.O.W was one he could have lived without needing to hear.
Black Widow suddenly looked at the transmitter on her Stinger as it emitted a high pitched noise,
"We're getting close to Jill's signal" she told Carlos- but as they climbed out of the car they found that the rest of the tunnel was completely blocked,
"There must be a maintenance hatch around here somewhere" Natasha insisted as she shone her torch light along the walls until she found what she was looking for, a large piece of train blocked their way out
"Come on we should be able to shift it together" Natasha stated as she took one end of the heavy metal wall and Carlos took the other
"Push" they forced it to the ground with a loud clank- the door led to a network of maintenance tunnels,
From the looks of it people had attempted to take refuge in them- from the Zombies that raised from the ground at their presence Natasha guessed that had been a plan that didn't work out.
The both of them fired at the Zombies that shuffled towards them, Carlos was worried they had been taking too long getting out of the Subway almost as if the groups of undead placed themselves in their path purposefully to stop them from finding Jill.
They follow the bright exit signs, Natasha noticed some Zombies that had already been killed- she guessed that was good news and showed that Jill had hopefully been through here, eventually they come across a set of stairs that led up to ground level
"Jill can you hear me?" Black Widow spoke into her Stingers on the off chance that they may now be in signalling distance, but silence was her only response.
At the top of the stairs they exit out of one of the fire escape doors- both of them flinch, they'd been in darkness for so long that the morning sun felt like needles in Natasha's eyes- she checked her watch 10:35AM
"We're on the river front" Carlos mused as he looked around for any signs of Jill,
Natasha checked the signal on the tracker she had put on Jill was working now.
Black Widow turned on the spot and as she turned towards Saint Michael's Clock Tower the tracker furiously beeped at her.
Black Widow had been in this area before, she knew the layout- she quickly headed for the bridge that connected the river banks only to find that something had destroyed it completely
"Shit- let's see if there's another bridge further down" Carlos sighed, but Black Widow shook her head- that would mean another hour of walking and backtracking.
She unwound some of the line from her grappling hook- she shot out the grapple to the structure of the wrecked bridge and walked backwards recalculating for the extra body weight
"Hold on to me and hands where I can see them" she warned him- Carlos had never felt so worried as he carefully wrapped his arms around the Avenger.
Natasha leapt both of them high into the air, she reined in the grappling line as they both swung across the river- Natasha manoeuvred the momentum so that they both landed softly on the opposite river bank.
Carlos let go of the Black Widow "Well- I've never done that before" Carlos breathed as Natasha retracted her grappling hook into her Stingers-
The signal was stronger was stronger this side of the river "Come on" Natasha said to him as she climbed up off the muddy river bank and onto a street-
The signal hadn't moved from Saint Michael's Clock Tower, it was the first place they started their search and unfortunately they found who they were looking for.
