-Hospital hell.

"Gray, you have to wake up now. You have a check up at the hospital now!"

Lindsey gentle voice came from the doorway.

Grayson who had been under the covers groaned in response. He did not want to wake up and go to the hospital where they poked and prodded him for a check-up.

He hated it.

It's been a couple of months.

There is only a year left until the start of the novel so that means that he had to extra vigilant during this time with his body because he didn't want to die.

Even though he had gotten immensely better than his previous condition the doctor had said he could have a relapse at any given moment.

Which is why his sister had become so keen on taking him for medical check-ups each month.

If she couldn't she'd burst into tears.

Not mention her protectiveness grew.

It was horrible.

The novel mention that his sister had gone into financial struggle paying for her brothers hospital bills and used the last to study abroad in New York where she met the mobster.

But his sister was financially stable.

It must've been for the plot to make her seem desperate or something similar.

Stupid author.

Grayson tried to burrow himself in the comfortable and thick blankets but his sister didn't let him as she ripped them off of his small body.

"As much as I would let you sleep. This is an important appointment we can't miss." She had specifically took a day off to send him.

Some days where she couldn't take off she would ask for Elijah to send him and then ask the details afterwards.

But today she would have to go herself.

"Come one gray, you can sleep when we get back." Lindsey helped the young boy sit up while he rubbed his eyes.

"The bath is running so you just need to wash off and change." She said to the small boy and then left leaving a sentence behind.

"Finish up soon, we need to get going."

Grayson groaned but stood up unwillingly and stumbled his way into the bathroom.

The water would hopefully wake him up.

Lindsey had begun letting him shower and dress by himself after he kept refusing whenever she offered aid.

It was like her little brother had grown up.

What she didn't know was that there was a grown man stuck inside his body.

Grayson didn't take long and finished quickly changing into a comfortable clothes with some struggle due to his short limbs.

But he did all of it on his own.

Eventually anyway.

He walked in the dinning area and seen that breakfast had been set. Lindsey noticed him and helped him to his seat the finished placing the dished down.

There was one thing she didn't stop doing and it was this.

"Try to eat a bit faster today. Elijah is going to give us a ride." Grayson nodded with a bit of leftover tiredness.

He had gotten closer to Elijah the more he babysat him but sometimes he still annoyed him.

But he wouldn't feel bad if Elijah got with his sister.

For now he was top 1 on his list.

Well he was the only one he had personally met.

He hadn't met the protagonist mafia man.

But considering how different details in the current world were a bit different from the novel he guessed that he might be different but he wouldn't know until he met him officially.

For now he should eat.

Grayson ate quickly enough to where when he finished Elijah had arrived just on time and as always he greeted him with an overly enthusiastic hug.

"How my favorite little man?" Elijah picked him up and hugged him before holding him in his arms.

"I'm the only male child you know." Grayson was blunt.

"That's true. I have nieces after all!" Elijah had an older sister that had twin girls.

He hangs out with them occasionally and they were both very hyper active.

They would drag him places and make him play with them.

So most of the time they came over he would hide until they went away.

"Where's your sister?" He questioned glancing around not seeing Lindsey's figure.

"Getting papers for appointment." Grayson made himself comfortable on Elijah's shoulder. He had become more comfortable with him so he acted more like a child.

"Gray have you- Ah you're here!" She looked at Elijah who held the tired Grayson.

"I just got here. Are you ready?" Elijah said with a small blush after seeing Lindsey.

'please stop flirting...'

This is one thing he cannot get used to.

The blush Elijah has whenever he sees Lindsey.

"Yes and thank you again for this." She sent him a bright smile.

"No problem. I was free and don't mind helping." He sratched his cheek in an embarrassed manner before he muttered.

"And i don't mind doing anything if it's you."

Grayson wanted to vomit.

I mean who would want to see the person they now love as a sister being crushed on by some guy.

Gross.

"Then should we go?" Lindsey finished packing the needed things.

"Mm." Elijah nodded and held the door open for her.
After she had gone outside he closed it and placed Grayson in the car while Lindsey locked the car door.

Grayson couldn't help but think they probably looked like a family but well he doesn't have enough energy to think about it.
