— It's the start.

The weather was cooler despite it being summertime and night-time. In most nights the weather was quite hot.

It could be a simple anomaly.

Or it could be because today is the day his sister meets the mafia boss—her future husband.

At least in the novel.

It's been almost a year since Grayson and Lindsey had moved to Italy and Grayson enjoyed it quite a bit.

Despite him still not having learned Italian it wasn't bad at all.

Him and his sister lived in a rather peaceful neighborhood and the apartment was better than the last one.

The neighbors often came to their house giving him sweets and such even when his sister said to stop so be might just be bias but who cares?

But today he couldn't be as giddy.

Tonight is the night his sister will meet the Mafia man whom falls in love with her at first sight after spotting her at his club.

Yes.

A club.

Grayson had researched mafia novels—at least that what he believes—but in most of them they always meet at a club, hospital or Cafe.

And the novel he had read followed the club cliché.

He couldn't help but wonder why it couldn't have been an amusement park. That way he could go and keep an eye for the man but he couldn't go to a nightclub could he?

Or he could sneak in..

"My little cat!" two slender arms wrapped around him causing him to jump in suprise.

But he calmed down realizing who it was.

It was his sister's friend, Mira.

Lindsey had met Mira at her job as a surgeon since they both worked in the same hospital and quickly became close friends.

The first time he had met her was a little over three months ago. he remembered meeting a beautiful brunette girl that had way too much energy.

He wasn't energetic so he hid behind his sister but that caused his nickname.

Little cat.

Mira said since he's so shy like a little cat that should be his name and well it was stuck ever since.

"geez auntie you scared me." Grayson muttered all the while trying to remove Mira from hugging him but it didn't work.

Mira had been urging Grayson to call her aunt stating that he was her nephew since he couldn't be her little brother.

So he was coaxed—forced into it.

"The little cat got scared?" Mira teased the little boy with a smile on her face.

Grayson had a frown but he wasn't actually as annoyed as he seemed.

But the scene was quite funny.

Lindsey had walked into this scene.

"Mira, don't bother him so much."

Mira who hadn't notice Lindsey looked up about to retort but was suprised instead as she let go other still struggling boy.

Her friend looked gorgeous.

"I told you'd look gorgeous in that dress!" Mira said with a trumphet smile on her face.

Grayson rubbed his sore neck with a frown on his face as he glanced at his sister only to be stunned as well.

Mira was correct.

Lindsey look very nice.

His sister had long dark hair that fell on her shoulders; her features were elegant and sharp that were popped put by her natural make-up; she wore a red dress that hugged her curves well.

She looked very beautiful.

"You think so?" Lindsey was a bit shy as she usually didn't wear this type of clothing.

So she wasn't sure on how'd it look on her.

"You look gorgeous!" Mira said as she danced around Lindsey before glaring at Grayson on the couch. "Tell your sister how great she looks!"

"You look pretty, sister." Grayson didn't stay silent as he gave her a smile with his compliment.

He didn't lie.

That made Lindsey a bit shy but she gave Grayson a bright smile. "thank you but of course my little brother is the most handsome."

Grayson had to agree with her words as he felt he was the best looking.

Both Mira and Lindsey wanted to giggle watching the little boy puff up his chest in pride after his sisters compliments.

"How about me? how do I look?" Mira said as he posed.

Grayson gave her a glance.

"You're okay."

"You little brat."

Lindsey giggled at the interaction between then before she glanced at the time and saw that it was getting late.

She didn't want to stay to long at the club so she wanted to go earlier so she could stay a but later and still make home early.

"We should get going." Mira agreed as she picked up her own purse from the couch.

"Take care little cat." With a kiss on the cheek she went out the door as Lindsey followed along not forgetting to nag Grayson.

This habit still hadn't changed.

"Don't forget to lock the door. Don't open it for anyone and if your hungry there's leftovers in the fridge okay? ah and re—"

"Just go ill be okay." Grayson assured her that he would be fine.

At first Lindsey wanted to leave him with a babysitter but he had convinced her to let him alone tonight.

So she had many worries.

But Grayson felt he would be fine.

With much trouble Grayson was left alone and Lindsey was off to meet the big Mafia man.
