— dammit.

Grayson had been playing hide and seek for the last hour much to his displeasure but those kids wouldn't leave him alone.

His heartbeat had steadly began to call down—

At least that's what he thought.

"Let's play one more!" One the twins said with his humnongou amount of energy.

Of course the other twin agreed to which in turn got  the rest of the kids to agree—besides Grayson whom felt super tired and hot for some reason.

He didn’t want to play anymore.

"I'm not gonna play."

"Why not?"

"why why?" The kids all seemed displeased but Grayson didn't bother to answer them.

He took this chance to slip away and went to find Elijah who was still surrounded by a bunch of moms.

They seemed to have finally realized Elijah wasn't his father thankfully.

Grayson tugged at Elijah's sleeves until Elijah glanced down at him to see what was wrong or what he wanted.

Grayson had been feeling discomfot in his chest but had brushed it off until now.

It had become to unbearable.

"What's up, bud?" Elijah said as he realized something seemed to be amiss.

"My chest hurts.." That was Grayson's last words as he blacked out.

Elijah had grabbed the boy as he fell into a panic along with the rest of the mom's all around him but Elijah wasn't worried about that.

"Gray? Gray? Grayson? Wake up...wake up.." Elijah tried to tap the child awake but Grayson didn't respond.

"Shit."

Elijah held the boy in his arms as he rated to the car not paying attention to what the women beside him were saying.

At this moment what was on his mind was too rush him to the hospital.

Elijah had no qualms of putting Grayson down as he sped to the hospital not caring if he would be seen by a police officer.

He was in a panic and could only think about Grayson.

Not to mention he had to let Lindsey know.

Elijah had come to know Grayson during this past month of babysitting him. Grayson had become his younger brother despite that the kid seemed to know about his crush on his sister.

It was obvious by the looks Elijah recived whenever he blushed in front of Lindsey.

Grayson was a smart child after all.

The hospital that was about a 45 minute drive had turned into a 25 minutes drive as Elijah sped the whole way there.

Almost being chased by an officer that saw him.

He kept making sure Grayson was still breathing and his pulse was somewhat there but he didn't bother to park the car as he broke out into a sprint and rushed into the hospital.

"Doctor! Someone Help! he's passed out!" Elijah shouted at the staff whom saw the unconscious child.

They instantly rushed him inside as they huddled around him taking him further into the hospital.

Elijah had been held back by a nurse as he watched them take Grayson but his heart was still beating out of his chest.

He didn't know how he would tell Lindsey.

....

The restaurant was rather full tonight as it was a weekend so most workers and students were off for these two days.

Lindsey navigated through the tables as she held a multiple plates.

Lindsey set the plates down as she noted that all of them had been set. She glanced at the elderly couple and said with a smile.

"Enjoy."

After she recived a thank you she had removed herself and went behind the counters waiting for the other orders.

But then someome shouted her name.

"Lindsey!"

"It's for you!" A raventte-haired girl sais holding out the phone beside the register.

Lindsey was confused as too why she would be getting a phone call in the middle of work and it would not be on her phone.

But it might have been on her but since it was put away it wasn't heard.

She grabbed the phone and said a slight "hello."

But soon her face dropped as the first beside her could see her going pale.

Before the girl could ask what's wrong Lindsey had rushed out of work not bothering to take off her uniform nor letting their boss know.

"What the..?"
