A/N: this chapter includes domestic violence. You have been warned.
That evening had consisted of Liam going to Asher's, he has spent the night there. They didn't argue and they didn't fight, Liam ended up crying in Asher's arms and continuously apologising.
Asher had forgiven him, under the promise that he will stay away from Theo so that they can work on their relationship as a couple. Asher had explained that Theo was just jealous, he was only trying to get in between their relationship and ruin what they have.
Unfortunately this peace was only short lived, that next morning Liam was trying to be kind and understanding with Asher, but he did have his game coming up. "It would mean a lot to me if you would be there," Liam explained.
"I told you I don't wanna sit back and watch you throw a ball into a net," Asher said, his fingers mashing the control stick as he played his video games.
"Okay but that's not really fair," Liam but his bottom lip as he shifted uncomfortably from his spot on Asher's bed. "I always come to your basketball games and I don't like basketball, but I do it to support you.."
"Wow," Asher snapped, not even looking in Liam's direction as his fingers aggressively pushed at the buttons of his remote. "Just tell me you hate me," he laughed, although Liam wasn't sure if he was being sarcastic or serious.
"I'm serious," Liam sighed, moving closer so that he could place a gentle hand on Asher's arm. "It would mean a lot to me if you came, it's a big game for me."
Asher rolled his eyes, "I shouldn't do anything for you after the way you embarrassed me at Isaac's party, Scott hasn't even spoken to me since," Asher retorted with a scoff.
Liam pulled back, immediately retracting his hand as his brows furrowed. "Excuse me?" Liam snapped, "I embarrassed you?" He stood up, "you threw me into the fucking pool Asher. Or have you already forgotten that?"
Asher tossed his remote against the ground in a flash, "don't fucking talk to me like that!" He yelled. Liam tried to hold his ground, he really did. Feeling his face heat up he looked between Asher and the door, the urge to run was pulsing through his veins.
"You hurt me," Liam said, although all confidence in his words was completely lost. His hands shaky and his breaking wavering as he avoided Asher's eyes, "you pushed me in front of everyone."
"And you fucking embarrassed me!" Asher hissed, a dark chuckle escaped his mouth. "You know what," he paused, "you have no idea how much I fucking do for you."
"What..."
Liam took a step back, feeling small and vulnerable as Asher paced the room. "You know what people think about you?" He smirked, "they think you were a nobody, nothing. I fixed you Liam, I'm the one who gave you fucking purpose! Not Theo, me!"
Liam sat back on the bed, feeling nauseous as Asher continued to spew up insults. "You were nothing! Just a lacrosse player, nothing else!" Asher clenched his fists, his blood boiling as Liam sat in silence. "Say something!"
It sounded like a dare, one Liam knew he shouldn't accept. He remained silent, "you're a fucking joke," Asher hissed, "you- you need me!" His voice was hoarse, almost as if he was losing grip with himself.
Liam pursed his lips, his anxiety high as he prayed for someone to open the door. Hoping now more than ever that Theo was home, but he probably hated him right now. After what he said yesterday, he didn't expect Theo to want to help him.
His phone dinged, Liam was quick to pull it out and relieved when he saw his message had texted him. "Who was that?" Asher snapped, his eyes directing daggers at him.
"My mum," Liam replied fast, standing up and heading straight for the door. Asher was faster, grabbing his wrist and throwing him back. "Asher please move," Liam said, now leaning against the wall, his back pressed against it.
"No," Asher said, stalking closer. "Who. Fucking. Texted. You."
"Y-you don't believe me?" Liam asked, his eyes now glassing over with tears. "It was my mother, I-I said that, please move." He felt his breath hitch as Asher snatched his phone from his hands, "Asher stop."
"Why?" Asher snapped, "are you hiding something?" He began scrolling through Liam's text messages, a laugh escaping his mouth. "So you were texting Theo after all?"
Liam gulped, "it's not like that," Liam began but before he could finish his sentence he felt himself thrown back. His face stinging as his hand flew to his cheek, "did you just?"
Asher stood back, staring at his own hand in shock of what he had just done. He walked into the bathroom, leaving Liam with tears streaming down his face as he looked to the door.
He darted for it, pulling it open and running down the stairs. Not even saying goodbye to Asher's parents as he exited the home, a broken sob escaping his mouth as he did.
He held his phone close, having managed to grab it from the floor before exiting. His hands shook, he didn't know what to do or who to call. He heard someone call out to him, he didn't turn around.
He ran and he kept running until he reached a park, finding himself sitting on the curb. The cement cold underneath him as he took shaky breaths, trying to pace his breathing as he looked around.
"I can't do this," Liam whispered, his breathing hiccuping as he looked around. He wasn't strong, not strong enough to leave Asher. But was he strong enough to stay with him? Was he strong enough to stay with the man he loves? The man who had just abused him?
A/N: Don't be like Liam. If anyone hurts you leave them, defend yourself if able to and leave them immediately <3
