Meanwhile, Linda was leaning over her suitcase that was sprawled across the hotel bed and looking at it with frazzled denial and doubt as Lee entered the room, and watched her with disdain and disbelief. "Linda, you know better than to walk away from me during a conversation as important as this, I mean, for heaven's sake, this is about the welfare of not only Heather, but now this second baby..." Lee reprimanded as Linda turned to him with the emotional state of being made self-consciously uncomfortable. "Don't you think I realize that!?" She suddenly barked back as Lee shut the door quietly and watched with increasing concern. "Huh?! Don't you!? I'm sickened by this behavior of yours too, y'know! Mom would have NEVER allowed you to treat me or my siblings like this.." Linda scolded as she marched closer to him.
"Linda, don't you see? I'm not trying to degrade you...l'm....I..I....I" Lee stuttered as he tried to collect his thoughts. "I'm just trying to look for what's in the best interest for you and my granddaughter..." Lee began as Linda shook her head with anger and resentment. "Heather is at an extremely moldable, vulnerable and very impressionable age, and this divorce situation with her father is making it even worse....married people shouldn't get divorced Lin.." Lee continued on with his lecture, despite Linda not appreciating it. "Do you know what that does to the psyche of a child? It makes them behave like a delinquent....and I'm not gonna allow my grandchild to behave in such a manner ...." Lee finished as Linda instantaneously slapped his cheek with all of her remaining strength. "DON'T YOU EVER SAY ANYTHING LIKE THAT ABOUT HEATHER AGAIN!!!!" Linda screamed as Lee watched with horror.
"You're not looking for her best interest!! All you want Heather to do is follow your old fashioned standards of living, where the woman is expected to be submissive, and the man is always right, no matter the situation, and where she shouldn't speak unless spoken to.." Linda corrected him as she tried to recollect herself. "I don't want that for her or this new baby..women are equal to men, and that's how the children will be raised, conservative values are not what I want for myself or my family. I want my children to have the freedom and opportunity to make more out of their lives than they could even imagine...and I want them to do that creatively, truthfully and authentically, and Paul understands that, and that's why I love him." Linda explained as tears rolled down her cheeks like waterfalls bursting at the seams.
"Joseph absolutely had no interest in being Heather's father, and I don't want her around that..she deserves to have a good man in her life to show her how she should be respected and treated by her future husband..and Paul does that for me." Linda continued on as Lee nodded. "I know that Paul's got quite a bit to learn when it comes to being a parent to a young child…but, I'd never put Heather in dangerous situations..." Linda finished as Lee exhaled. "I just hope you know what you're getting into, moving Heather across the world, and making this spoiled rocker be the father of your child.."Lee began as he looked at her sternly. "Anyways, I have a plane to catch, and so do you...goodbye for now.." Lee then finished with another sigh as he stepped out of the room.
