Neil had killed himself over a month ago and everything went back to normal quite quickly for Welton. English class wasn't so exciting anymore and no one really looked forward to it due to the absence of Mr. Keating and his passion to inspire his students. His enthusiastic personality and influential footsteps that his students follow.

As for the dead poets, the last meeting they had as a group was on the same day Neil had performed and soon after died. They had grew distant and never really talked. Meeks and Pitts are still close friends, Knox seems to have been getting more together with Chris, but Todd. Todd was now alone.
He was offered to be roommates with Cameron considering they both did no longer have roommates but he preferred to be alone than to be with Cameron.

Sometimes Knox, Meeks, or Pitts would come visit to Todd's room whenever he cried too loudly just to calm him down in order to not wake everybody up. Everything just became so unbearable for Todd. Losing the first and only people who truly cared for him. Why is it that he couldn't be happy? Why does the good things have to go so quickly.

Ever since, Todd slept on Neil's bed, grasping onto the little bit of scent that was left on his mattress. And he would cry pools of tears for minutes to hours until he falls asleep.

But one night Neil visits his dreams. This was no ordinary dream. This time he looked more like himself. More like Neil and not a blurred face with a green sweater. This time Todd could see the faint outline of his nose, his dark brown eyes that fits with his thick eyebrows. It was really him.
