(Such a crappy chapter name)
After a few weeks of training Adeen's skill level rose up to a high standard. The training definitely took it's toll but the girl was glad to finally be able to put her fists of fiery fury to use. Iroh allowed Adeen to train alongside Zuko much to the prince's dismay. It seemed that she managed to catch up to him in weeks when he spent his whole life training. The moves he couldn't understand and complete came to her with such ease. It was if she was a fire bending prodigy just like his sister and that made him frustrated.
Today Zuko and Adeen were on deck practicing. Alone. The crew members were off doing things below deck and Iroh was of course in his room drinking tea. Adeen was peacefully sat practicing her breathing exercise while Zuko was attempting to create an intertwined fire stream. Key word; Attempting the boy was struggling. Zuko huffed in frustration sending off a large fire stream before he stopped, breathing heavily. One of Adeen's eyes opened peaking to see what was happening a slight giggle escaped her lips.
"What are you laughing at," Zuko spat turning around quickly right as Adeen's one open eye snapped shut.
"I think you need some calming tea," She giggled softly opening her eyes.
"You are turning into Uncle you need to stop hanging around him so much, I don't need any calming tea!" Zuko exclaimed sitting down in front of the girl cross legged.
"I quite like spending time with Iroh! He is funny and nice and actually spends time with me. The tea loving man is nice company," Adeen answered back taking offence to his comment. Everybody loves Iroh.
"What was that move you were trying to do?" Adeen asked deciding to change the subject.
"It's called an intertwined fire stream," he sighed deciding he might as well tell the girl "It's an advanced move," he added standing up to give an example.
Zuko took a deep breath before sending out two streams of fire "You must direct two powerful streams of fire at your opponent and intertwine the two streams to make a large comet shaped stream," he said intertwining the streams so they formed the perfect stream. "It has more power than an average stream," Zuko finished letting the flame die out.
"Zuko?" Adeen asked attempting to get his attention "Are you that much of an idiot?" she asked as he looked back towards her.
"What?" he sputtered in confusion wondering what he had done now.
"You just did it there you nimrod!" she exclaimed jumping up "It was the perfect stream," she grinned.
"You think you could teach me?" she asked biting softly on her lip hoping he would oblige. The boy nodded a small yet triumphant smile on his lips now that he knew he could do the form.
Adeen attempted to imitate the move Zuko performed but she couldn't manage to make the two fire streams intertwine. Zuko saw her struggle and decided to give her a chance and help her master the art of fire bending like his Uncle. Zuko corrected the girl's stance by moving her shoulders slightly and came behind her softly grabbing her hands. Zuko lifted them into the air before they sliced through the wind forming both fire streams as they arrived just above her hips. Adeen's hands were then brought together which intertwined the streams creating the comet like form.
Heat rushed to Adeen's cheeks as the flames died out she realised what Zuko had just done. Neither of the two attempted to move from their hug-like position until a cough echoed throughout the deck. Zuko jumped back while a reddened faced Adeen jumped forward both turning towards the source of the cough. Iroh stood a large grin on his face as he watched the two teenagers. Adeen had a changed many shades in a matter of seconds while a small tint of pink spread across Zuko's face as he scratched the back of his neck clearing out his throat motioning for Iroh to break the silence.
"I am sorry to interrupt your private lessons Adeen but you two must come for dinner you can continue your training tomorrow," Iroh announced motioning for the two to follow.
And that my friends lead to a very awkward dinner.
First some quality time with Iroh and now Zuko? Someday there will be little fire benders running around the ship. (Just kidding...Maybe). Two short little chapters in the space of one/two days (I don't know how that works since I am posting this at like 3:00am or something)
I just got a little heads up for you guys I am going to be going on holidays from the 13th of July so there mightn't be any updates for you guys in like a space of 2-3 weeks but I'm pretty sure my hotel has internet and I am bringing my laptop so I might be able to do some writing in the sun and post it for you guys :-D.
