Chapter 5

Shay's POV

We were running for our lives from a ginormous dinosaur that would do anything to kill us, but like the idiot I am, I made the mistake of looking back to see how close it was when...

I tripped.

Lying face down for about 10 seconds I heard a very familiar roar. I heard footsteps stomping towards me and tried to get up. My leg was bleeding ever so much and if I didn't move now I'd surely be dead in the next 2 minutes. I tried lifting myself off the ground and collapsed instantly, when I heard the footsteps of something much smaller than a dinosaur. I looked up and saw someone running towards me. I put my head down and tried to get up again.

"Shit"
"Zach?" I lifted my head again and saw him standing before me.

"Come on, we got to get you out of here" he started to pick me up when we heard deep breathing.
I turned around and there stood the dinosaur that could end our lives in one bite.
"Come on!" He got me on his back and ran to where he came from. I saw Grey standing at the edge of cliff. What were we going to do?

Zach's POV

I carried Shay on my back all the way to the waterfall where I left Grey with the monster still running behind us.

"We have to jump." I turned my head and looked at Shay laying on my back with her eyes closed.
I put her down when we got to edge.
"I can't." Grey said as he did before. Shay put her hand on his back and smiled reassuringly.

"1. 2. 3." I counted and we jumped as the dinosaur was about to grab us from behind.

Shay's POV

We landed safely in the(luckily deep) lake. Grey started to swim up when Zach pulled him down and we stayed beneath the waters surface and waited for the dinosaur to leave. I nodded at Zach and we swam back to the surface and lie down in the grass as we caught our breath.
"Thanks." I breathed as a turned my head and smiled at Zach.
He smiled back.

AUTHORS NOTE/VERY IMPORTANT: Next week I might not be able to write so please if you'll be patient I might not update next week.
Next Thursday I'll be leaving to Mexico to celebrate my aunts birthday and spend time with family. I leave next Thursday and come back on Sunday. I'm staying at their house which is a farm so there's no internet to update my story. I'll write a long chapter or 3 chapters and as soon as I get back I'll update to get back on track from not updating every two days. Hope you understand.
So be ready for s big jump in the story when I come back;)
