Chapter 8

Shay's POV

They parted and Claire came running over to us.
"Zach! Grey!" She yelled as she awkwardly ran in her high heels. I stumbled past her to Owen and he embraced me in a tight hug. I could here Claire showering the boys with questions in the background.
"What was that, Owen?" I asked with a smirk on my face.

"That's Owen?" I broke away from Owen's hug and he side hugged me, Zach had a shocked look on his face.
"We work together." Aunt Claire answered.

Crap... I forgot I told him I was dating Owen.

"Your dating 28 year old?" Zach asks ignoring his aunt.
(I don't know how old Owen is:/ If you know or think he's younger or older tell me in the comments and I'll change it)

"Dating?" Owen looked at me surprised.

"We don't have time for this." I stated changing the subject.

"We gotta go" Says Owen and we jog as Claire makes a call.

"Lowery? What do you mean use the raptors?" That makes Owen stop.

"Son of a bitch."

"You shouldn't say bitch" Grey comments, causing me to lightly nudge his arm as he said it himself.

"Take the kids. Get them somewhere safe." Owen turns to Claire as hundreds of tourist burst through the gate running like hell.
We jump into a park car.
"Owen! Go!" I yell and he steps on the gas and we go in reverse. We find a safe spot to park and watch people running away by the hundreds.
"This does not feel safe!" Zach says kind of nervously.
"Can we stay with you?" Grey asks.
"I am never leaving you guys as long as I live" Claire says turning to look at us thinking we meant her.
"No no him!" We point to Owen, making Claire turns back around embarrassed.
"Yeah, definitely him." Zach says.

Once it clears up a bit Owen speeds off in the direction of the Raptor cage. When we get there Claire and him jump out of the car and march over to Hoskins and Owen punches him square in the jaw. We cheer from the car.
"Nice boyfriend." Zach suddenly says making me turn to him.
"Will you just let it go."
"Well your 16 he's, what? 28? Your a minor an I think he likes my aunt now."
"Why do you even care?" I yell back
when I hear Hoskins yell.
"Jesus! How many people need to die for this mission to make sense to you!" He says yelling at Owen. I try to listen to more when Zach speaks again.

"Well sorry for looking out for you." He quietly states.
Making me break.
"We're not dating!" He looks taken back.
"Then why?"
"Peer pressure okay? It makes you say stuff." A tear falls down my cheek.
"Shay I didn't-"
"Just. Just drop it."

Zach's POV

We look out the window in silence and see Owen heading to a cage. We all get out and walk over and see Raptors hooked up to these machines.

"Are they safe?" Grey asks Owen.

"No they're not." He replies.

"What are their names?" I ask out of curiosity.

"Well, here's Charlie. There's Echo. Delta. And this is Blue. She's the Beta.

"Who's the Alpha?" Grey blurts out.

"Your looking at him kid."
I turn and see Shay blush at his comment. She looks at me seeing I'm looking at her and here smile disappears.

Aunt Claire opens the back doors of a huge truck-like-van.
"See safe. Come on get in." She says and I help Grey in and hop in after as Shay has denied my help.

"I'll be in the front if you need me. Just open that window." And she points to the little window behind our heads.
"Ok, put your seat belts on." Aunt Claire says and we look around not seeing any.
"Just hold hands." She says and closes the doors. Grey holds out his hand to me. He's kidding right?
Shay takes his hand and he rests his head on her shoulder and she rests her head on his.

I lace my fingers with Shay's.
