Drew's POV

Sunday came and passed in a rush. Overall, the weekend was a great one. One I enjoyed more than I thought I would. It was a pleasant surprise to see how well our families got along. There was no awkward energy or standoffish behaviour from anyone. My parents accepted Reilly and Molly like they had been daughters they raised and Charles accepted me just the same. The atmosphere was welcoming and genuinely fun. For everyone.

I was sad it was over.

In the evening, before Molly and Charles had to leave again on Monday morning, we decided to go out somewhere and enjoy the evening. We ended up at the park, sitting on blankets on the grass watching the sunset while eating pizza.

I haven't kissed Reilly a lot that day, just because we'd been out in public most of the time and I'm a bit shy still. But once we got home, I dragged her out to the balcony for her to kiss me breathlessly. I love her.

I was giddy the rest of the night, my head floating with happiness as we watched a movie on the couch together. Then, Molly and Reilly shared a long extended hug, anticipating their eventual goodbye.  Especially since we would most likely be in court when they were leaving.

Reilly was sad about it and it showed in the way her shoulders and lips sagged as she hauled herself to our bedroom in the late hours.

I walked up to her as she stripped out of the sweater she wore all evening, to slip into something more comfortable to sleep in, and wrapped my arms around her in a soft embrace. "You're sad," I said, nuzzling her neck.

She embraced me, sighing deeply. "I just miss her already."

"I know. I'm sorry baby. What can I do to make you feel better?"

"You're already doing it," she responded, smiling softly. "Or, on second thoughts, you could tell me you love me."

I returned her smile, kissing her shoulder a few times. "I love you very much, Reilly Elora Reid."

"See, when you middle name me like this, I can appreciate it."

"Oh? But not the scolding?"

"I never do anything that warrants scolding."

I glared playfully at her. "Do you really need me to address that?"

"No ma'am."

"Good, because I wouldn't," I said, spanking her lightly as I stepped back.  "Verbally."

She gasped at me, rubbing the spot I spanked in circles. "That was hot."

I blushed and began to strip down from my clothes too. As I did, I remembered it was Sunday night and we would be hearing the verdict for David's case tomorrow. A momentary bout of panic washed over me as I worried about how the ruling would go. I was nervous. Hopefully, it would be a life sentence at the very least.

With a sigh, I dragged on a large T-shirt, went to brush my teeth and then slipped into bed next to Reilly. She was sitting up in bed, trying to take a selfie. I peeked at the screen and gasped. "Babe, that filter is way too much!"

"Really?" She said making a kissy face. "I think it makes me look cute."

"You look like a ghost."

"Ouch!" she faked a cringe. "I'm going to ask my followers."

She snapped the picture and posted it. A minute later, I got the notifications but I didn't look at it quite yet, deciding to give her followers time to comment. In the meantime, I snuggled close to her and watched her scroll through her feed. It was pretty interesting to see she had a social media presence outside of law. She had a fake account that I guess she used for all her misbehaving.
