We finally reached New Jersey. We were driving along the highway in a car that we... appropriated. Hey, the whole world is gonna end, nobody will miss the Camaro we sto- borrowed. I was driving, Sean was in the shotgun seat.

Sean: Are we there yet?

YN: No.

Sean: Are we there yet?

YN: No.

Sean: Are we there yet?

YN: No!

There was a brief silence.  Did he finally stop?

Sean: Are we the-

YN: NO!  Dammit, Sean, do you have ANYTHING else you can do to entertain yourself?

Sean sighed, reclining the seat back.  After about ten minutes, he was snoring loudly.  I just sighed and turned on the radio.

Reporter: As you can see, behind me there is a freak storm brewing.  New York has never experienced waves or wind like this, and the same can be said for many of the other cities along the north-east coast who are experiencing the same thi-

I turned off the radio. Poseidon and Zeus are really getting heated.  I saw another car on the road ahead of us, a beat up red truck, and behind the wheel... is that Percy?  I honked the horn at them as I pulled up to drive next to them.  Percy looked towards me and began to pull over.  I followed suit, parking our car behind theirs.  Sean was still sleeping, so I got out and walked over to the truck.

YN: Percy, there is no chance that you have a drivers license...

Percy: Oh, and you do?

Annabeth jumped out and walked towards me, a confused look on her face.

Annabeth: YN?  What are you doing here?

YN: We got a quest after you left.  Chiron sent us to help you.

Annabeth: Well, I guess we could use the help.  Especially considering how this quest has gone so far.

I smiled at her as Sean stepped out of our car, yawning

Sean: About time.  We've been driving all day trying to catch up to you.

Percy: Yeah, well you guys are lucky you didn't.

I looked at him confused.  Sean walked over.

YN: Monster attack?

Annabeth: More like we accidentally walked right into Medusa's lair.

Sean: Medusa?  As in... THE Medusa?  Is she dead?

Percy nodded.

YN: Where's the head?  It's probably still dangerous, even if she's been killed.

Annabeth: We sent it to Olympus.

YN: You did WHAT?

Sean: The gods REALLY won't like that!

Percy: I hoped they'd see it as a tribute.

I sighed, there was nothing we could do about it now.  We all talked for a bit, before getting back in our cars.  I found out from Percy that they were headed to Missouri following a map to the Underworld, where Hades supposedly had Zeus' lightning bolt.

Timeskip

Annabeth: So this is the Gateway Arch?  I always wanted to come here as a kid.

YN: Well, now we're here.

Percy, Annabeth, and I were going up the elevator system.  Grover and Sean had gone into the city to get food and a new car, since we'd stolen the ones we were driving.

YN: Remind me why we're going up here, Percy?

Before he could answer, an old lady walked up to us, with a small dog on a leash.

Lady: Hello, dearies.  I seem to have dropped my purse somewhere, could you please help me find it?

Percy: Oh, of course, ma'am.  Where did you last see it?

A scent hit my nostrils.  A monster.  An extremely dangerous monster.  I quickly pulled Αγριος off my wrist.  It grew into a spear, and I thrust it into the lady's head.  She exploded into yellow dust.

Percy: YN!  What did you do?

I turned towards the dog, which started to grow in size.

YN: If she was human, Αγριος wouldn't have hurt her.  Celestial Bronze can only harm demigods and monsters.  And she was the latter.

I pointed at the body, which was now dissolving into yellow dust.  I turned back towards the dog, which wasn't a dog. It was a huge creature, with the head of a lion and the body of a dragon.  It's tail ended in a snake head, and it had a goat heat protruding from it's back.  The goat head turned and spit fire out at Percy.  He managed to roll out of the way, but the fire blasted a hole in the wall, and Percy fell down towards the river below.  I spun Αγριος around and pointed it at the monster.

YN: The fucking CHIMERA?  Are you kidding me?

The Chimera jumped at me, and I sidestepped out of the way, slashing at it and cutting off it's tail.  The snake writhed around on the ground, before it stopped moving, dead.  The lion head roared at me, while the goat head breathed more fire in my direction.  I dodged again, grabbing Annabeth.

YN: Time to go!

I picked her up bridal style.  Her face turned bright red as I kicked open the door, racing down the stairs in what had to be world record time.  I ran out of the arch, and saw a wave wash over the pier.  I put Annabeth down and we ran over, finding percy on the dock completely dry.

YN: How the Hades did you survive that fall?

Percy looked up at me and smiled.  He held out his hand, and the water from the harbor rose up into the air, and then fell back down.

Percy: Son of Poseidon, remember?

YN: Sure, why not.  Makes perfect sense.
