The footsteps grew louder, a sure sign someone was approaching. "Hi there," a voice greeted, pulling me out of my not-so-great hiding spot. I looked up to see Kimi standing there with his little sister by his side. "Hi," I managed to say, trying to sound as cool as possible.

"You don't have to hide, I don't bite, you know?" he said, a playful tone in his voice as he tried to hold back a laugh. I couldn't help but smile at that. "Ah, good to know. I'll keep that in mind," I joked back, and to my relief, he laughed—a genuine, hearty sound that made the earlier embarrassment worth it.

"Uh, is there something you need?" I asked, suddenly curious about why he'd come over to our table. He had this smirk on his face that made me think he was up to something. "No, not really. Well, actually, yes. Am I that racer you're always talking about?" he asked, the smirk turning into a full-fledged grin.

I felt my face heat up. "What??? No, it's Ollie!" I blurted out, but even as the words left my mouth, I knew I wasn't fooling anyone.

"That's a lie. You never stop talking about him! Seriously, you should hear—" Amelie started, but I quickly kicked her leg under the table to silence her. She kicked back harder, and I winced. "Wait, never mind, it is actually Ollie," she corrected herself, giving Kimi a too-bright smile.

"Now I'm heartbroken," Kimi said, pretending to be wounded by the revelation. "Aw, do you need a sticker to make it all better?" I teased, trying to keep the mood light.

Amelie and Maggie, Kimi's sister, started giggling, and I found myself getting lost in his brown eyes. They were like pools of chocolate, warm and inviting.

"Well, actually, yes, a sticker would be great," he replied, suddenly serious. I couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation. "Today's your lucky day then! I've got Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol stickers," I said, digging through the shopping bags we had with us. "Which one do you want?" I asked, holding up the two options for him to choose from.

"Peppa Pig," he decided, and I selected a sticker for him. "Can you stick it on my forehead?" he asked, completely deadpan. "You sure about that?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow. He nodded, and so, with a slight shrug, I placed the Peppa Pig sticker right in the middle of his forehead.

"Very pretty," I said, trying—and failing—to stifle my laughter. "Do you guys like it?" he asked, turning to Maggie and Amelie. They took one look at him and burst into laughter. "It looks ridiculous!" Maggie exclaimed, her laughter infectious.
