Chapter 10: Explosion

The next morning, a familiar man walked towards the building, with police, and an electrician. Jasmine was pouring a cup of coffee, when she heard the doors open. Ryth, the officer ad electrician walked in. As she went to address the matter, Slimer took this moment to steal the coffee pot, and drink all it's contents.

"Um, excuse me, sir!" said Jasmine, "You can't come in here!"

"Ma'am," said Ryth, "Step aside, or you'll be put under arrest."

"Oh no!" said Jasmine, "I've seen this on TV before! You need a warrant to come in here!"

Ryth then held up a paper, saying, "Cease and Desist All Commerce order, Seizure of Premises, Ban of the use of Public Utilites for Non-Licensed Waste Handlers, and a Federal Entry & Inspection order."

Down in the basement, Braedey was with Vinz, and he said, "Vinz, there's one more test I'd like to preform, if that's alright with you."

Just then, Ryth, the officer, and electrician came down the stairs, as Jasmine said, "I tried to stop them Braedey, but they have a warrant!"

"Excuse me sir," said Braedey, "This is private property!!"

"Shut this down, all of it," said Ryth.

"Sir!" said Braedey, blocking the switch, "If you turn these off, it will be extremely hazardous!!"

"Oh you wanna talk hazardous? I'll tell you what's hazardous." Ryth responded. "you're facing federal prosecution for at least half a dozen environmental violations. Now either you shut off these beams or we shut them off for you."

Seth arrived, and heard the commotion downstairs.

"Slimer, what's going on?" asked Seth.

Slimer shrugged, as they went downstairs.

"You need to understand!" said Braedey, "This is a high voltage laser containment unit! Shutting it off would be like dropping a Nuclear Bomb on the city!"

"Don't you patronize me," said Ryth.

"Officer," said Seth, "There seems to be a mistake. We checked out-"

"I'm not falling for your tricks Eaton," siad Ryth.

"They want to shut off the power grid," said Braedey.

"Officer, that's insane! If this thing gets shut off, then the whole city block, if not the city, might go up in-"

"Stand aside," said Ryth.

"Okay," said Seth, "Just whatever happens next, we won't be responsible for it."

Ryth then just said, "Shut the damn thing off!!"

Seth then whispered, "This is gonna end bad, right?"

"Yep," said Braedey.

The electrician looked at the containment grid and says, "I don't know about this, sir. I've never seen anything like this before and there's all these warning label-"

"I don't care about your opinion, just shut it off!" said Ryth.

"What's the big deal of shutting it off?" asked the officer.

Braedey and Seth made fists, and then jazz hands, while mouthing, 'Boom!'

The officer realized the situation, and was about to stop the electrician, but it was too late. The switch was turned off, and the power went down. The red light blared, as an alarm went off.

"Okay," said Seth, "Time to.... RUN!!"

Everyone in the basement ran out, as Vinz watched in amazement.

Tamara noticed this, and asked, "What's going on?"

"IT'S GONNA BLOW!!" yelled Jasmine.

Tamara then raced out, with Slimer not too far behind her. As soon as everyone was outside, the containment unit exploded, and all the ghosts were released!

"It's the sign!!" said Vinz.

"Yeah," said Jasmine, "A sign of going out of business!"

The Ecto-1 pulled in, and the rest of the gang stepped out.

"What happened!?" asked Titan.

"They turned off the power grid!" said Braedey.

"That's bad, right?" asked George.

Seth looked around, and grabbed Braedey by the collar, yelling, "WHERE'S THE KEYMASTER!?!"

"OH SHIT!!" said Braedey, "COME ON!!"

"HOLD IT!!! I WANT THESE MEN ARRESTED!!" snapped Ryth. "CAPTAIN, THESE MEN ARE A CRIMINAL VIOLATION OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION ACT AND THIS EXPLOSION IS A DIRECT RESULT OF IT!!!!!!"

"YOU MOTHER-" Braedey tackled Ryth to the ground, as a fight pursued. All over New York, Ghosts of all sorts appeared, and attacked the locals. Zuul woke up, and walked to the window, as it broke apart, and revealed everything happening.
