I was sitting on my bed, scrolling through social media. For the past two months, I had locked myself up in my apartment. The only time that I actually left my comfortable bedroom was when I had to go to work. My doorbell rang and I dragged myself out of the bed. Since I had ordered food, I expected it to be a delivery guy but no, it was my best friend, Laura. She had a pissed look on her face because I had avoided talking to her ever since my ex had broken up with me.

"Hi, Laura." I greeted her.

"Girl, you look horrible." she said, before she pulled me into a hug.

"Thanks for reminding me." I gave back, when we let go. She followed me into the living room.

"Sab, we're worried about you." she said as she let herself fall onto the couch. I rolled my eyes at her and shook my head, then I sat down next to her.

"There is nothing to be worried about. It's not my first break up, Laura." I gave back annoyed.

"It's by far the worst one though. We all thought you were gonna get married." she told me. I pressed my lips together and nodded.

"Yeah, me too but I guess he had other plans." I mumbled, looking down at my fingers. My nails had grown out but I just didn't have the energy to go and get them done. Laura got a text message and immediately her face lit up.

"Pack yourself a suitcase, we're going on a trip!" she exclaimed happily. I stared at her in disbelief.

"I have a job, I can't just not go." I responded in hopes it would make her change her mind.

"A job that you can work from home. I booked us a flight for tonight." Laura argued and smirked. I sighed and bit my lower lip.

"And where are we going?" I wanted to know, letting myself fall back.

"Las Vegas." she responded. I was absolutely not in the mood for a twelve hour flight. Since I got hired by a company in Germany, I lived in a small town near Munich and even though I could work from home, I sometimes had to come in for meetings. Laura was the only other American working there which is why we were so close.

Four hours later, we were sitting in the waiting area of an airport, it was 11 o'clock, our flight was departing at one. Laura was sitting to my right while Carla, another co-worker of ours was sitting to my left. She was Dominican and had been the one with the idea to lure me out of my miserable state. I was reading a book, while the girls were chatting.

"You got anything special planned while we're in Vegas?" I heard Laura ask Carla.

"Yes, I bought us tickets for a show." she responded in her accent.

"What show?" I wanted to know, still reading in my book.

"Magic Mike on Friday." Carla gave back happily. I sighed and rolled my eyes. Although I appreciated the fact that they tried to get me through my break up, I was not in the mood for a show with half naked, dancing men in it. It was way too soon for me to even think about other men, considering I had just gotten out of a seven-year-relationship. The two of them kept talking, while I pulled my earphones out of my backpack. When the boarding finally started about one and half hours later, I was almost halfway through my book. Luckily, I had packed two more for the flight. Carla and Laura were extremely excited while I was just waiting for this trip to be over.

"Oh, come on! Don't be in such a bad mood!" Laura said towards me as we sat down in our seats.

"I hate long flights and I want to go back to my apartment." I gave back annoyed.

"Vegas is a great place to bump into celebrities. And who knows, maybe you'll meet the guy of your dreams." Carla intervened.

"There's no better way to get over an ex than sleeping with someone else, Sabrina." Laura said which caused me to roll my eyes at her again.

"I'm not in the mood for that." I countered, putting my seatbelt on.

"When was the last time you had sex?" Laura questioned.

"I don't know, six months?" I answered, shrugging.

"David broke up with you two months ago." Carla said slowly. I could see it in her face that she was trying to figure out how that could be possible.

"Yeah, but he decided to fuck somebody else months before that." I told her. Yes, I was bitter about it and I had suppressed the anger for as long as I had known about my ex cheating.

I was happy, when I finally entered my hotel room. It was seven o'clock and I was exhausted but I had no time to take a nap because the girls had made a reservation  in a restaurant. It had been a long time since I had gotten ready, so I took my time. I had no idea what to wear and so I almost had a mental breakdown just because of that. By the time Laura and Carla entered my room, I had tried out almost every outfit I had packed and still wasn't happy. Laura watched me try on a different combination, then she had enough, got up and left the room. When she came back a couple of minutes later, she had a white dress with a floral print on it in her hand.

"You're gonna wear this and the white heels you brought." she told me and put the dress onto the bed next to Carla. I sighed and grabbed it. The dress was pretty, it looked great on my body and I finally felt good about myself, when I looked into the mirror.

"I don't know what to do with my hair though." I told her, when I walked out of the bathroom. Carla grabbed one of my hair clips and handed it to me.

"Half up, half down." she simply said. I had naturally wavy hair and hairstyles like that usually made it look less wild, so I nodded. Since I had spent a lot of time on my make-up, I was done when I had put my hair up. Laura had her hair braided on one side. She looked like Rapunzel with her long, strawberry blond hair, while Carla was wearing hers open. She had black, very curly hair that I had always been jealous of. The two of them looked like they were attending a red carpet while I felt like an ugly duckling next to them.

"You look great." Laura said, standing behind me and looking at me in the mirror.

"Do I?" I questioned, putting one of my brown waves back into place.

"Absolutely stunning." Carla agreed with her. I smiled and looked at my reflection. I didn't consider myself ugly but my ex cheating on me had definitely killed my confidence.

"Girl, the guys in the club are going to be drooling over you! Don't let an asshole, who obviously didn't deserve you, make you think anything else!" Laura said, grabbing me by my upper arm. Maybe the girls were right, maybe I should have some fun.
