Fate.

A cruel thing.

"So you rather I show up on the first day in school looking like an abused teenager from a night on call, would you?"

"That is not what you look like, Crystal?"

I huffed turning to Luke who barely glanced up from his phone and hummed in agreement to what he knew nothing about.

"Luke?!"

That got his attention.

"What?" he asked frustrated, "For goodness sake what is it?"

I laughed and twirled so he could look at the my outfit. Amy had me dressed in a hole filed net top that showed my black bra and bare tummy and some really tight leggings.

"Are those C cups?" he asked shamelessly and I launched a pillow at his face. Amy groaned and decided trying to beg me was a better idea.

"Please.Please.PLEASE, just wear this for me!!"

"NO!" I cried, "Please don't make me!"

She gave me her puppy dog eyes. I rolled my eyes.

"Maybe if we go to a party this weekend, the one at the Jason's come with me?" she suggested and winked.

"Sure why not." I shrugged and she launched herself in my arms. I felt a sting from my left shoulder close to my neck but quickly brushed it off.

"Thank you!! Thank you!! THANK YOU!!!" she squealed.

"You will not regret it."

**

The weekend came by pretty fast and I found my self back to the same position I was in on that day. Standing In front of the mirror with hair so big it would make people from Broadway jealous. My lips were blood red and eyes were dark enough that I could be mistaken for a vampire.

My body shivered.

Oh what a dark thought.

"Shall we, my lady." Luke said, his voice lacking enthusiasm as usual. I sighed. He was wearing simply a black T shirt and jeans and the only thing outstanding about him were his sunglasses. They were very shiny with that reflective mirror thing going on. I didn't get it at all.

"When are you getting over this slump of yours? It is driving me crazy!!'"

He shrugged.

"Were you dumped?" I asked joking. And he sighed making me even more curious.

"Worse than you can imagine."

"Do I get any details?" I asked hoping to hear what happened and he shook his head and presented his elbow. I nodded in understanding and took his arm walking out of my room with 6 inch high heels that could barely keep me standing.

We got to the front porch and I saw a limo. My mouth dropped not because there was a slick shiny vehicle outside my door step but there was a slick shiny black vehicle outside my doorstep with my best friend sticking out the top of it dancing to the loudest rap music echoing from inside the car.

"Oh. MY !!!"

I looked to Luke who shrugged and guided me completely un interested. I stumbled but caught up and let him take me inside. Once we were all settled I looked around and noted a little fridge and some blankets too. Th driver was behind the tinted window so it was impossible seeing his face.

"Isn't this a little too much for a house party?" I asked and she shrugged.

"Let's go!!" She hit the roof of the car and the driver followed the command. I settled comfortably and watched as my two best friends turned away from each other like they were avoiding the plague.

Weird.

"Did I miss something?" I asked. Amy faltered for a second before plastering on a smile.

"What are you talking about? Everything is okay." She replied.

I dropped it.

The rest of the ride was quiet and I cjpse not to question the obvious tension. It felt like I hadn't seen the guys in a long time even if they were right in fornt of me. When the limo stopped the window rolled down and no words could describe what I was feeling at that moment.

One.

It was definitely not a house party. We pulled up to a club that had the lights flashing across the sky and music so loud it could burst my ear drums. The party continue don till the parking lot. There were people dancing by the cars, inside the cars, on top of the, . Drinks in hand, cigarettes, Women, men, girls, older men and boys with older women. It was a frenzy.

"This is Jason's?" I gasped.

The door opened and Luke helped me out. The skirt I was wearing was way too short and the heels way too high. ATleast I had long sleeves on this crop top, Amy forced me to wear.

"Can we even fit in there?" I wondered out loud and Amy snickered.

"Of course!!"

She ripped me from Luke and ran with me across the parking lot and into the lion's den. The bouncer didn't bat an eye sin our direction as we zoomed past the waiting line. Amy brushed passed people so fast that I ended up losing my grip on her hand. I stumbled back into a hard chest and gripped the person hard so I would not fall.

"I am so sorry." I said quietly that I doubt he even heard me.

Strong arms secured round my waist and steadied me. The heels made it harder to stand straight but I held on to whoever it was until I found my balance again.

"Are you okay?"

I looked up and locked with some baby blues. I found my smile.

"Yeah," I replied, "I am okay." He studied me with an amused glint in his eyes.

"Hi my name is Jordan." He said.

I sucked in a breath at the smooth sound of his voice.

"Hi, I am..-

"What are you doing way over here??"

And there Amy was looking between me and Jordan with a startled expression.

"I lost you in the crowd and bumped into him, sorry," I troed to explain. She grabbed my wrist.

"Let's go," she turned me just as Jordan was opening his mouth,

"I didn't catch your name."

"Amy, nice to have met you. Goodbye!"

I followed after Amy to the VIP section I dint know she could afford and there we danced so much that I almost forgot to think how surreal this was. My heart raced with each song and it was like a spell had been cast. Never in my life did I see myself getting down and dancing in the presence of so many people. Amy's face was filled with reassurance and she never left my side. There was no insecurity about the shirt skirt or how my skin was on display. I felt so free.

So alive.

Like the shackles of life were taken off.

I took a couple of drinks that Amy handed me that she swore were alcohol free but I couldn't help but feel fuzzy every time a new song came on. Soon the music morphed into into echoed cried of pain that shook me to the bone. My hands found my ears and my knees found the floor. Right next to me knelt Amy. She had tears flowing down her face and she was screaming my name in a way I never heard before.

There was so much pain.

SO much pain.
