I'll punch them if they talk

Gilly POV:

She was going to strangle him.

Five minutes ago, Gilly Cobbler was doing her schoolwork in the library, surrounded by peace and quiet. Now, she was making her way to the infirmary with murder on her mind.

She'd heard what had happened from Maxine, who heard it from Kayla, who had overheard Raza and Tessa talking about it. As she sped through the hallways, Gilly could feel the eyes on her. She didn't care, though, not right now. Right now, she was a girl on a mission, and that mission was telling her best friend that he was the most stupid person on the planet. The boy couldn't even go one week without getting into a fight.

As soon as she got to the infirmary, Gilly swung open the door and began to scan the faces she saw, but none matched the person she was looking for. She was about to ask Nurse Tasha where Jax was, but she answered the question before it was even asked.

"He's in the room next door. We had to keep them separated." She told Gilly, her tone slightly exasperated. She was used to these types of things.

Gilly let out a quick thank you before making her way to where Jax was. However, before she reached the door, she saw the guy Jax had gotten into a fight with today. Matthew Harrington was his name, and he didn't like Gilly or her friends one bit. The reason? Well, she didn't know. Jax got him pretty good, though, Gilly thought. He had a split lip, and the area around his eye was turning a nasty shade of purple.

"Whatcha staring at, Cobbler?!" Matthew snapped at her, full of rage. Gilly just rolled her eyes before making her way to the room where he was supposed to be.

Inside the room, all the cots were empty except for one. Jax was sitting on it, his head against the back wall. He hadn't heard her come in; he was looking at his phone and he had his headphones in. (yes, phones and other electronic devices exist just because.)

To get his attention, Gilly grabbed the nearest pillow and threw it his way. Jax, being Jax, was able to block the pillow before it hit his face. He took out his headphones and looked up to see the person responsible for almost killing him with a floppy infirmary pillow.

Jax shut his eyes and muttered an 'oh, shit' when his brain finished processing who was in front of him. When he finally opened his eyes, Gilly was standing there, waiting.

"Hey, thief. What brings you here?" He asked her casually, fearing what was coming.

"Don't 'hey, thief' me, Jaxon. Explain to me why Matthew Harrington is right outside that door with a busted lip and a black eye. Now." Gilly knew her tone was a bit harsh, but Jax had been getting into way too many fights recently, and she knew the reasoning behind it. Plus, she didn't like seeing him hurt.

"He fell?" Jax replied, hoping Gilly would find it funny. She didn't. Instead, she stared at him, waiting.

"Ugh, ok, fine. He was saying some nasty stuff about you that he shouldn't have been saying. And I wasn't going to let him say it." Jax looked mad as he explained. Even though Gilly knew he was doing it for her, she still didn't like it.

"Jax, how many times do I have to tell you? I don't care what people say about me; I'm practically used to it at this point." Gilly told him again, for about the millionth time.

"I still don't like it when they talk about you." Jax said quietly, looking down.

"And I don't like it when you get hurt because of things like this, but here we are." Gilly replied. "What did he even say? It's probably something I've already heard a thousand times before."

"He called you a bitch and then said that you deserved Anna betraying you." Gilly stayed quiet and just listened. "That's when I started to warn him to shut the hell up."
