I've been in Asgard for over a year. I had visited my dad multiple times but had told him that Loki and I 'didn't work out'. I had quickly mastered illusions and teleporting and could almost always control my phantom blasts.
I was just relaxing with Loki instead of training. We were attempting to come up with cool superhero names for me. We had managed to narrow it down to Navy Empress. We had decided to stick with a blue theme since that was the color of my powers.
"Lady Y/N?" Someone asked, knocking on the door. "I must speak to you." I walked over to the door and opened it. I was greeted by Heimdall's golden eyes.
"Hi, Heimdall. What's up?" He smiled.
"Your father has asked for your help with a project."
"Oh. Um, okay. Has Thor returned from seeing what was wrong with that one spot?"
"Not yet."
"Okay. Let me return Loki to his cell and then I'll meet you at the Bifrost." Heimdall nodded and walked away.
I closed the door and walked back over to where Loki was.
"Do you have to leave?" Loki asked with a pouty lip. I bit my lip in an attempt not to laugh as I sat down.
"Yes. Now get up, I have to take you to your cell." Loki groaned but stood up anyway.
"Wait," Loki said. I turned around, surprised. "I have something for you."
I followed Loki into the library and gasped when I saw what was in the middle of the room.
On an old white bust, was a light blue dress with a purple diamond in the middle. The four corners of the diamond were outlined by dark blue points and an N and E overlapping in the center. A light shawl was wrapped around the shoulders and a dark green line was wrapped around it that looked similar to a snake. There was a navy blue crown with a small blue sapphire in the middle. On the neck was a sword necklace. The sword was black with what looked like a real leather hilt.
A/N: I made the drawings. Sorry, they suck.
"Wow," I murmured. Loki walked over to it with a big smile.
"I had it made for you. The necklace is probably the best part. Watch." Loki grabbed the necklace and unlatched it. "Amare," Loki whispered. I watched in amazement as the necklace turned into a normal-sized sword. Loki smiled and handed it to me. "If you say amare the necklace will become a normal-sized sword. It will also turn it back into a necklace. I thought you could use a weapon. It's enchanted to disappear when you fall asleep and reappear when you wake up, so you never have to take it off."
"Thank you," I whispered. Loki smiled and took the sword from me.
"Amare." The sword became a necklace again and Loki moved my hair to the side to put it on. "There," Loki said as he stepped back. I turned around and jumped into his arms. He laughed as he wrapped his arms around me.
"It's perfect," I said. "What does amare mean?"
"Love, in Latin."
"I should probably get going," I said. Loki nodded with a sigh. I grabbed the outfit and put it into my suitcase.
I opened a portal into Loki's cell and he begrudgingly stepped through. I closed the portal and opened another to the Bifrost. Heimdall was already there, his sword resting by his side.
"I see you've nearly mastered your powers," He said. I smiled and nodded. Heimdall put his sword in the holder and turned it.
"Bye, Heimdall!" I shouted as the Bifrost began to surround me.
"Goodbye, Lady Y/N."
I felt the Bifrost grab me and lead me down to Earth. I appeared outside of the Avengers Compound where Dad was waiting for me.
"Hey, Dad," I said, stepping forward to hug him.
"Hey, Y/N. I've missed you."
"I missed you too. So what's this project you need help with?"
"We made this new android-"
"Ultron," I finished. "And now Vision. Heimdall told me."
"Oh. Well, that makes this easier. I need your help to figure out how much of JARVIS is in Vision." I nodded and followed him to the lab and we got to work.
**********
I had been working with Dad for a couple of days now and we had figured out how much of JARVIS was in Vision as well as what he could do.
I was in the kitchen, making some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for me and Clint when a mental projection of Heimdall appeared next to me.
"Hello, Heimdall," I said, not the least bit surprised since he had done this before.
"Hello, Lady Y/N. I'm afraid I have some sad news," Heimdall said.
"What?! What happened?!"
"Queen Frigga of Asgard has passed away."
"Oh no! Loki and Thor must be devasted! She was a wonderful person."
"She was. That's not all I have to tell you. Prince Loki of Asgard has also...passed."
I stopped. I felt my entire world crash to the ground. I was faintly aware of the knife falling from my hand. I heard Clint calling my name as I sank to the ground, but it was faint and distant. I then felt arms wrap around me as I sobbed. I heard more people run into the room but didn't bother to see who.
He's gone. Loki's gone.
I was suddenly standing and being shaken violently. I paid it no mind.
"Tony! Tony, stop! You'll hurt her!" That was Steve's voice. I felt someone release my shoulders and I fell back right into another person's arms. Natasha appeared in front of me.
"Y/N? What happened? What's wrong?" She asked.
"He's gone" I gasped, choking on my tears.
"Who is? Who's gone?"
"Loki! H-he died!"
"Oh, Y/N," I heard Clint say sadly.
"Everyone," Nat said, wrapping her arms around me. "Stay back. I'm taking her to her room. Yes, you too Tony."
I then felt Nat leading me down the hall, then up the stairs. I was surprised when we were suddenly outside my room. Natasha opened the door and guided me inside. I sat on my bed. She started digging around in my dresser until she found my pajamas. She put them in my arms and then pushed me towards the bathroom door. I numbly went in and got changed. When I came back out, she was gone.
I laid down on my bed and curled up into myself. I closed my eyes and more tears came to my eyes.
I cried myself to sleep.
