Off-season in Jiuhaigou means mandatory shuttle buses. We cram in one and alternate between reading the video subtitles about the park and viewing the stunning waterfalls and lakes out the windows.
We follow one man, away from the crowds and down the road to Swan Lake. Soon a Chinese woman screams at us. Perhaps use a sign with pictures to prohibit?
The park is selfie central. A short walk becomes an obstacle course, dodging those who need a photo every five meters.
'Look I'm here!'
