Conditions are perfect for a planning day, resting in our budget rainforest cabin on stilts. Halfway through a payment to secure our future scuba class, blackout. Like typical Western tourists we are frazzled and the receptionist can only say that it might be back by evening. Common occurrence.
Half the restaurants can't serve lunch without power. Luckily, the veg-friendly one can. No blenders to make fruit shakes or fans to offer relief.
Realization: we're power junkies.
Switch off.
We wander past the river, people watch, read, journal and eventually find a Lonely Planet at a restaurant to formulate our plan.
