Chapter: 9 - infatuation?

I woke up due to the sound of my alarm. Usually, I would be awake before the alarm sounds, but I guess today was an exception. I groaned as I was reminded of last nights events. I cant believe I have to go to lunch with Aakash. One more ruined meal added to the countless list thanks to Mrs. Shastri. I got ready for work after the household chores and headed to the Law firm. I arrived on time and got to work right after I made my registry.

I worked non - stop till lunch, I was going through Krinas mails and other personal handles to find something to prove her right and to make the court believe in her truth. I saw the reminder on my phone that indicated it was time to meet the devil and just then, I received a text from him. Revolution. In 15 minutes. Revolution was an expensive place down the block. It was a lavish restaurant and close to my office, so, I heard my colleagues talk about it quite often.

I left from the firm and walked my way down to the restaurant. A walk is always refreshing, it clears my mind up. I arrived and walked in, I saw Aakash, and I mentally groaned as I went towards the table he was seated at. I sat in front of him and ignored his smile. Come on Revu darling, dont spoil our first date, hmm? he said in a fake sweet toned voice, I was so disgusted by the audacity of this man. Its not a date Aakash, Im here because, today, unfortunately, I have no choice but to be here.

He started laughing hysterically and looked back at me. He said, Exactly Revika, you have no choice, but to live like I ask you to. Youre my doll. I wanted to slap him and beat him to death, but, momentary pleasure of that was not worth risking my freedom, I took a deep breath and ignored him thereafter till we finished the meal. I felt a stare burning on my back, but I refused to look back at whoever it may have been, if I did, I know Aakash would too and it will only lead to chaos. This man likes to get in trouble and later tags it as the fun of life.

We paid the bill and left the restaurant soon enough. At the door he leaned toward me and I was ready to pull out the pepper spray in my bag when he hugged me forcefully and whispered in my ear, Cant wait to give you hell, sweet cheeks, and pulled away and left. I mentally curse at him again and left for the firm. I was walking and heard a honk behind me, I stopped and I was shocked to see Mr. Rajput pull up.

He told me he had something of my interest and that I should get into the car, I was hesitant, but I took the chance. He showed me the proof I needed to put that vile man behind bars. I thought for a while as he told me that I could use it as an anonymous tip and I agreed. That man could rot in jail for what he did, Mr. Rajput had some other proof of him and his many illegal businesses. I was thankful to him, but I needed Krina to be reinstated, she needed this job.

I asked Mr. Rajput with a lot of hope if he would reinstate her and also pay her the amount, she deserved but wasnt given. He agreed and I couldnt be happier for her. I guess he isnt as bad as he poses to be. I thanked him and also apologized to him for misjudging his character earlier. He smirked and I may or may not have regretted apologizing because of his smug face, but I felt better.

I gave him a small smile before I walked out of his car and headed back to the firm. I kept thinking of how my name sounded as it rolled off his lips, almost like it was so habitual to hear it. I liked the sound of it. Ms. Revika in that husky, deep and alluring voice made me feel something in my stomach, I dont know what it was nor do I wish to figure out. It wasnt a good decision to be involved with him, I was being forced into a marriage of convenience with a womanizer and Im still skeptical of Mr. Rajputs rude self being so helpful, he doesnt do favors unless he gets something out of it. Im still starting out in terms of my career; I dont want to ruin something I have worked for so hard all my life.
