The Rajput Mansion was full of joy and vibrant as everyone was excited to have their former Raani sa – Kuntala Vikrant Singh Rajput – return home. She had gone to pay visits to her village and all the neighboring villages. The preparations were over the top and all the workers put all of their heart into them as they wanted Kuntala devi to be welcomed with great extravagance.

The Rajput family was also very well prepared with everything they wanted to do for the eldest woman of the family. Revika was filled with joy just by seeing how much love they had for each other. She helped in so many of the preparations herself. She had the feeling that she will love Kuntala Devi just as much as her family does, she heard multiple stories of hers and she was very excited to meet her.

The day went by quick with all the members being busy with preparations. Vardaan had gone to work for a meeting but, returned soon enough with lots of street food that his Daadi sa seemed to love. Revika was stunned to see how much he knows and takes care of his family in the past few days. She admired how he had gotten Ishani and Raunak’s books for college a day before they came and asked him for them. He also had his Grandparent’s medicines personally restocked as he noticed they were almost over. He took care of his mother’s NGO related work as she faced some trouble with the matters without her asking him to.

It showed Revika just how much he was attentive to them even without showing it and she guessed that was why the entire family understood him and let his cold demeanor be, actions indeed do speak louder than words. Revika surely admired him as a son now too. He was not only the ideal businessman to her now, he was also a perfect brother, son, grandson and nephew.

It was soon evening and everyone impatiently waited for Kuntala Devi’s car to arrive at the mansion.

Everyone was extremely excited to meet Daadi sa and I was too. They had told me her stories of bravery; she was a warrior herself. She knew combat that she learned earlier in the day, she didn’t limit herself from any skill by being biased with gender, she did everything she wished to. She believed in women independence and made so many schools in the villages and provided the children free education. She was truly admirable as a queen and as a person. She had a jolly nature and was amiable as per the information provided to me by all the dearest grandchildren of Rajput family.

The entire family and I were sitting in the main living room of the ground floor as we waited for her arrival. The clock struck 5.45 p.m. and we heard the cars arrive. All of us made way to the entrance, I was reluctant to go but Saarna aunty insisted and pulled me along. I stood far back and I saw Mr. Rajput descending the stairs and stand right beside me. He looked ahead and I turned my gaze away from his perfectly chiseled face.

Kuntala Devi came in after Saarna aunty performed the aarti and she blessed her. She sat on the couch followed by a young lady wearing a light purple kurti with jeans. She looked pretty, perfect even. She smiled at everyone and sat beside Kuntala Devi.

Yeh hai Lavanya, Lavanya Saxena. Vardaan se milne aayi hai. Inhe iss sheher mein kaam hai isiliye yeh 2 hafto tak humare saath yahin rahengi. Iss bahane se Vardaan ke saath inki bonding bhi achhi hoajyegi, they can then decide whether they want to move forward with the alliance or not.” Kuntala devi said with a firm but, slightly calm voice.

Her aura screamed power. I liked her already. I wasn’t thrilled about this Lavanya living here with us. I looked toward Mr. Rajput to see what he felt about the arrangement but he looked least bothered by it. He just nodded at his grandmother and bowed to touch her feet. “Khush raho, bete,” she blessed him and sat right in front of her on his knees and held both her hands, “Daadi sa aapse darkhast hai, aap apne pati dev ko humare paas akela naa chode, inhone naak me dum kar rakhi thi,” He playfully said to her and she laughed her heart out.
