"You have a crush on Noah" Knox says, as we settle into my bed. My brows crease, at that random comment.

"Where did that come from?" My voice is gentle.

"Everytime he talks to you you get all red and shy" he runs his fingers through my hair.

"He just puts me on edge. He's our Alpha but also now he's family. I mean he was before too, but now he's mated to my brother. He is attractive, and I used to have a crush on him. But now it's just nerves "I ramble, and he tugs at my curls.

"You're cute when you ramble on '' he smiles small, scooting closer. I wrap my arms around his torso, practically laying on top of him.

"I don't want to make you uncomfortable" I murmur, and he shakes his head.

"I don't get jealous, honestly. You're here with me, you think he's attractive? Cool. I'm trusting you to never act on that, and to be faithful to me. I don't have the energy to be jealous" he murmurs, burying his face into my neck. He nips at the skin, the feeling going to my toes. The same heat from early coils around me.

"Knox" I whine, when his tongue brushes against my pulse. He sucks the skin gently, his hands roaming to my hips.

"Hmm angel?" he mumbles into my skin, pulling my thighs, sinking them into the spots on either side of his hips. "Too much?" he asks, dragging my hips forward, rubbing myself against him.

"N-no" I gasp, the friction sending blood to my dick. I harden right away, and I feel him harden against me.

He keeps a lazy pace, pulling my hips so I'm thrusting down into him. I'm on top of him, the opposite from earlier in the day. His lips scrap against my skin, up my neck to my jaw, then they are ghosting over my lips, in a gentle kiss.

Rocking my hips forward, falling into a steady rhythm. His fingers slip beneath my shirt, the tips of his fingers ghosting over some of my old scars. My body stiffens, pausing but his fingers don't stop roaming. They're gentle as the ghost over my scars, and he slides my shirt up. My throat tightens, as he slowly slides my shirt up and over my head.

His eyes roam my torso, my stomach over all my scars. He's flipping us, laying me down against the bed as he scoots down my body. His lips press into my scars, leaving a trail of gentle kisses. He doesn't shy away, or cringe. He doesn't seem disgusted, as his lips touch each and every bump.

"So perfect, so beautiful" he murmurs against my skin. His lips trail up my chest, his eyes on mine. Tears blur my vision, but he doesn't stop. He kisses everywhere. Murmuring sweet words. "You're absolutely perfect baby. Every inch of you" he runs his fingers over the parts of me I hate the most.

"Y-you think so?" my voice is hoarse, as tears stream down my face. He makes his way to my face, wiping away my tears.

"Absolutely angel" his eyes hold mine, the seriousness in his voice, in his eyes. "I wish you didn't have to resort to that, but it doesn't make you any less perfect. Any less beautiful" he murmurs, kissing my face, my cheeks.

"They kind of ruined the moment though" I mumble, soaking in the feeling. It's overwhelming, and heart wrenching. But he made it such a beautiful moment.

"No it didn't" he brushes his hips against my thigh, and I feel his hard cock. "I think that's enough for today though. We need to take things slow, i don't want to overwhelm you" he presses a kiss to my temple, before he's settling down behind me. His arms wrap around my waist, pulling me flush against him.

"How are things going?" Doctor Stephen asks, sitting down in the chair beside the desk. I'm in the medical building today, for a check up.

"Good" the word flows out, out of habit. "Well, okay. I had a panic attack, but my mate being around helped calm me. I took a sedative and it worked" my voice is gentle, and quiet. But he hears me all the same.

"Do you think your meds are helping?" Doctor Stephen asks, typing some things into his laptop. He has short blonde hair, and he's chewing gum a bit loud. Maybe not, but it feels like it.

"Yeah"

"We think they need upped" Knox cuts in, from his position in the corner of the room. "He's worried about getting them upped because they make him tired, but he needs some sort of adjustment. And maybe something stronger for anxiety" Knox says easily, and the tight panic that was starting to grip me slips, and eases off.

"Hm" Doctor Stephen says, typing something into his laptop, scrolling and then he's placing his laptop on the desk, and turning towards me. "I think we can start you on some gabapentin, it's used for pain but it also can be used for anxiety. We normally would start on the lowest dose, but we're gonna start on a little bit higher. We're gonna adjust your mood stabilizer as well. I'm gonna send you home with some emergency anxiety meds. You take them when a panic attack is coming on, and it'll help calm you down. It will make you tired, but it'll make it so you can breathe. How's therapy going?"

"Good" I nod "I've been going, Knox has been coming with me. But we're going to start taking space to see how that goes "I fill him in, and he nods again.

"I think you're doing great. I know it's hard, mental health is a lot. It's not easy, and it's

so different for everyone. I need you to be easy on yourself, alright? Shit is tough, excuse my language but that's just how it is. All we can do is try our best, and you're doing so well. I know it's hard for you to reach out to us, but my door is always open." Doctor Stephen has been treating me since I was a kid, so I'm not surprised by his little speech.

"Thank you" I murmured, relaxing in my seat.

"Let me go get that medicine for you, I'll be right back" he smiles, and steps out of the room. Knox gives me a small grin.

"He's right, yano. You're doing so well angel" the praise sends pride through my body, but it also makes the heat wrap around my core, and tighten.

"Thank you" I murmured, tugging at my fingers.

"So he upped your meds?" Dad asks, as I pick apart my wings.

"Yeah, and added a new one." I dip the piece of chicken into the ranch, then pop it into my mouth. Dad nods, taking a bit of his pizza as he leans back in his seat. Knox is beside me, eating his wings quietly. He's giving me as much space as he can.

"So when we go home you think you're ready to try and have Nots wait in the car? You go inside" Dad asks, wiping his mouth with a napkin. I nod, I'm nervous, and scared. But I want to be able to be my own person, and the only way to do that is to slowly ease out of this codependency.

"Pops is dealing with some pack business, and then the twins are coming over tonight. Noah and Bran are going out of town for their anniversary. Three years tomorrow" Dad fills me in, and I smile.

"Good timing, those little brats make everything better" Dad laughs, nodding. But there's something else on his face. "What aren't you telling me?" I ask, tilting my head.

"Yesterday Layla went to another pack to handle some shit. Whatever they do" He says slowly, "She found her mate" his eyes flick between mine. It takes me a moment, and then a smile takes over my face.

"That's awesome though dad!" Three years ago, we all found out that Layla was in love with Noah, and Noah is our brother's mate, so that was hard on all of us. Because we didn't know how to be there for her. But she pulled through.

"It is, but he's the beta of that pack. So we don't know what's going to happen. If she's going to transfer out the pack or if her mate will. She's a mess, and won't come home. She's staying at that pack for the week" he clears his throat, and my heart tugs. Panic sweeps in, squeezing my middle.

"Don't let it set you back, babe. It's gonna be okay." Dad reaches across the table, squeezing my hand. "I know it's hard, but it'll be okay. If she goes to another pack she will still make time to come see us" dad's eyes are sad.

"Okay" I mumble, chewing the inside of my check.
