Chapter 14: Wow this is parenting-

Nicks pov:

It's been 3 days since charlie has been in the hospital. He hasn't called me even if he was allowed but i understand that he needed some space. BUT i'm also questioning my parenting skills so maybe it's good we didn't talk so i can maybe figure it out on my own?

Blake has been begging colette to barrow her cropped shirts, which we both said no too. Eli has brought his boyfriend over almost everyday, though closes his door no matter how many times i say to keep it open, and colette has been completely questioning her religion. So i'm having a great time😃

Mum has come over for dinner almost every night and my students are just being a pain in my ass.

Right now colette and blake are fighting; while eli is with jack in the family room. I'm in the kitchen trying to make dinner while also trying to stop colette and blake from killing each other AND making sure jack and eli aren't making out on my couch.

As i start cooking i ask:

Nick: "•Jack, are you staying for dinner?•"

Jack: "thank you for the offer sir, but i need to head home soon"

He's very respectful, calls me sir which i like.

Eli: "•aww you aren't staying~•"

He sounds desperate and i sigh and colette and blake stomp down the stairs.

Nick: "if she said you can't wear it you aren't wearing it blake."

Blake: "COLETTE SAID I WAS GOING TO HELL FOR NOT PRAYING WITH HER"

My head snaps up and i look at colette.

Nick: "excuse me?!"

Colette: "That's what my friends pastor said!!!"

Nick: "and do you believe that?"

Colette: "i- umm well-"

nick: "I think we need to have a serious discussion about this later okay?"

Colette: "okay..."

She walks back upstairs and i turn back to the pot and stir, look over and see jack and eli making out.

Nick: "•HEY! Not on my couch!!•"

they pull apart and jack stands up; looking down at eli.

Jack: "•sorry baby•, i'm heading home."

I nod and notice how he's starting to use a little sign.

Eli walks him to the door and colette comes back down with a bible on hand

Nick: "what's that for?"

We've never been a religious family so this whole religious awakening for colette has been a little difficult for me.

Colette: "my friend gave this to me, she's catholic. Then my other friend, Jewish, gave me one of their prayer books, then i talked to my presbyterian friend, and my muslim friend. I'm so confused about everything!"

I take a deep breath.

Nick: "okay honey, let's talk later, dinner is ready, okay?"

She nods and eli comes back from the door and blake is already at the table.
