"Niall, does this dress make me look fat?" Niall looked at the girl who had been trying on wedding dresses for the past two and a half hours. She wanted it to be perfect for her upcoming special day. And who better to get their opinion from than her best friend?

"You look amazing in any and every dress you try on, Y/n." Niall said, not seeming to be able to take his eyes off her. She caught him looking at her so she quirked an eyebrow at him. Then she brushed off his response, not wanting to think about what it could mean. In a few days, she'd be marrying the man she 'loved', and she couldn't let Niall distract her from that.

"Thanks, Niall!" Y/n responded, then squinted her eyes at him, "But does it really look good on me? Because I know you'd say that even if it did make me look fat." Niall was quick to extinguish that thought from her mind. "You've really gotta stop with that self depreciation. It's not healthy."

She looked at him and smiled. "Looks like you've been rubbing off from Liam, I see?" He playfully rolled his eyes at her. "My point is, like I said, you look great in anything you wear."

Y/n giggled. "You compliment me more than my actual fiancé, you know that?" She half heartedly laughed. "Sometimes I wish he did compliment me more." she said under her breath, but Niall heard it.

Y/n was quick to perk back up to her happy go lucky attitude. "Alright, I've kept you here long enough, so why don't I take us out for lunch? On me, my personal treat?" She smiled at him knowing he'd never say no to food.

Niall grinned, "Can we go to Nando's?" She looked at him knowingly. "I had a feeling you'd say that." Again, she mumbled something under her breath. "I seem to know you better than my fiancé." Niall stared at her for a moment, trying to read her expression, but she walked away before he could analyze her. He had known Y/n long enough to know when something was troubling her, and he suspected this time it was because of her soon-to-be husband. Although he didn't want to ask her about it until she brought it up on her own accord.

The drive to Nandos was mostly filled with the two of them screaming songs from the 'Take me home' CD Niall had personally gifted Y/n when it first came out. Currently, 'I Would' is playing.

"Would he say he's in L-O-V-E? Well if it was me, then I would, I would!" While Niall was singing this with Y/n, he couldn't help but look at her beside him. He then thought to himself, 'I know I would.'

Once they arrived at Nandos and found a secluded area, they began to order their food. Y/n had given Niall the opportunity to order first, and he took it upon himself to order for her, since he knew what she wanted from the countless times they'd been there together. "I'll have the double chicken wrap, no lettuce and she'll get sweet and spicy chicken wrap."

"Uhm, I'll get the Peri Ranch Crunch salad actually, but no chicken please," Y/n interjected, her voice timid, careful to avoid eye contact with Niall. Niall furrowed his brows but said nothing as the waiter wrote down their order.

"Alrighty, I'll be right back with those," the waiter said and walked off. Once Niall knew the waiter was gone, he turned to look at his best friend. "What's that about? I thought you loved the sweet and spicy wrap?"

Y/n just stirred her drink, trying to avoid his question. "I just... wanted to try something new?" She sounded like she was asking herself instead of answering. "Y/n, I know that's bullshit. You hate getting salads when we go out." Niall pursued further into this.

She sighed, knowing there was no steering him away from the answer he was aiming to get from her. "Well, Miles said that I should start laying low on the calories. Said I'd look better if I ate less and hit the gym more." But before Niall could get a word in, she was quick to try and 'justify' his actions. "But look at me, I finally look good in those dresses!"
