Jaypaw's eyes flashed open, a tight wheezing in his chest. Memories of him and Lionpaw fighting flashed in his mind. He shot up, trying to sense where he was. The medicine cat den. What am I doing in- he remembered. He had fainted due to blood loss, and had been dragged into the medicine den. He sniffed his paws, trying to locate any cuts or injuries, only to gasp. They were all gone. No infection? No scrape of any sort? That's not possible! Who else can- he froze. A brief image of Blossompaw in agony flickered into his mind. What did she-

"Jaypaw! Jaypaw, you're alright!" Leafpool shot towards his side, licking his fur rapidly to check his wounds. Jaypaw could feel the relief wash over her as she saw there was no infection. The relief turned into utter bewilderment.

"Jaypaw- you don't have any cuts..." She whispered, shocked. Jaypaw froze. What was he going to tell Leafpool. I can't tell her about the prophecy. He looked at his paws.

"I, uhm, healed," he mumbled. No way she's goin to believe that, his conscious scolded him. Leafpool frowned.

"Jaypaw, there's no way you healed that way naturally," He could feel the possibilities running through her mind. I need more time to come up with a better explanation. And I need to speak with Blossompaw,

"Actually, I have to, uh, go. Right now. Be right back!" He knew his excuse was terrible, so he skirted off, not wanting to dig into detail. I need to find Blossompaw, his mind fretted. He ignored the gasps and confusion as his body ran across camp, not a single ache.

"Jaypaw! You're- you're..." Hollypaw's voice was filled with awe. He didn't have time for this. Based on what he remembered, Blossompaw was in extreme pain.

"Where's Blossompaw?" He asked, breathing a bit shallow from running. Hollypaw paused for a moment, trying to remember when she last saw the calico she-cat.

"I- I saw Berrypaw try to talk to her a few minutes ago- she just walked straight past him into the apprentice-" Jaypaw was already gliding towards the apprentice den, his heart beating faster and faster. He ignored all the cats calling his name in confusion, and entered the apprentice den. He sniffed the den. Blossompaw, he followed the scent and felt a limp body at his paws. He froze. Hollypaw and a few other apprentices entered the den in confusion. They gasped at the body.

"Wh- what happened to Blossompaw?" Cinderpaw asked in shock. Jaypaw felt her breathing. She was trembling in uncontrollable pain, and her breathing was rapid, as if each breath was a sharp jab. He turned towards the others.

"Don't just stand there! Some cat take her to the medicine den! Hollypaw, come with me," He gritted, then gestured her with his tail. The other apprentices looked a bit worried but complied, silently vowing to ask questions later. All save but Hollypaw left.

"Jaypaw! How are you alive? None of your cuts are-"

"Blossompaw healed me," He explained the whole situation, making the black she-cats emerald eyes widen. Hollypaw glanced at the limp body and jumped back.

"Oh great StarClan! We need to get her to the medicine den!" Hollypaw and Jaypaw dragged Blossompaw's body out, trying their best to ignore the questions that came their way.

Once they had placed her in the den, Jaypaw pushed Hollypaw out, not wanting her to witness what he would do next. He looked (wait looked isn't he blind? $.$) at her shivering body, and put a paw on her flank. She whimpered in agony, as if the simple movement had harmed her greatly. His heart ached. What if she didn't survive?

"Blossompaw," He mumbled, trying to get her attention. She fidgeted, wincing at every movement.

"StarClan?" She whispered dreamily, as if the ghost cats were talking to her. No- no no no no, she can't go to StarClan! He nudged his paw against her flank, harder this time.

"Blossompaw, wake up. Blossompaw!" He was vigorously pushing her. A sudden thought hit him. What if she's dreaming?

Slowly, he pushed his consciousness into hers, trying to intertwine their dreams. She shifted a bit, as if consciousness was on the verge, but not quite. He pushed his mind into hers, and watched as his vision appeared slowly, just like how it did when he walked into dreams. He gasped.

Spottedleaf was touching noses with her, and cats surrounded them, almost as if in a ritual. No!

"Blossompaw!" He called out, panic in his voice. She swiveled her head, and her eyes widened.

"Jaypaw! You're here! Isn't this wonderful!" Her tail swirled and she gestured towards all of the StarClan cats. He peered at her pelt, which was fluffed out and healthy. Her emerald eyes were shining with joy. He shook his head slowly, making her smile stop.

"Do you really want to stay here? Leave the living world? The prophecy needs you!" He stepped towards her, making it so that only she could hear him.

"I need you," He whispered, making her eyes widened. He could feel her pelt heat up and she licked her shoulder.

"O-okay. But can I at least show you someone?" Her eyes shone with hope, her pelt now smoothed and beautiful. He gave a cautious nod. She gave a small squeal of happiness then ran away from the dead cats, her speed surprising him. They ran for a few minutes, until they came upon a grassy meadow with yellow dandelions. The sun was warm, and prey was running everywhere.

"Blossom, who do you have here?" A gentle mew sounded from behind them. Jaypaw turned and saw a golden dappled she cat that was remarkably small for her age, by the looks of it. Blossompaw gave a small purr, and rubbed pelts with the she-cat.

"Cherry! This is Jaypaw, my- er- friend," She stuttered the last part, making Jaypaw's pelt go warm. The younger she-cat, Cherry, gave a small laugh.

"It's good to see you're making friends, Blossom. Keep you're claws sheathed, sister. Remember, don't decrease the population..." She said something that Jaypaw's ears couldn't pick up, and gave a knowing glance at him. Blossompaw gasped and looked at her with embarrassment.

"Cherry!" She squealed, and Cherry seemed glad that she had done a good job of teasing her. The golden tabby turned towards Jaypaw and bowed at him.

"Take good care of my older sister. I know you can," Her eyes twinkled with mischief, making Jaypaw look at the ground and lick his chest fur. Cherry looked at her sister again, admiration in her eyes.

"Stay safe, Blossom; You're going to need it," She whispered the last part. Slowly she disappeared into a fade of stars, going off to her own place. Jaypaw could feel the fuzziness of his dream ending, slowly reaching the corners of his vision. Wait! He stumbled towards Blossompaw, making her blink in surprise.

"You have to wake up! Sooner or later cat's will be asking questions," He reminded her. She blinked a few times, as if trying to remember that this was a dream. She slowly nodded, her green gaze focusing and unfocusing.

"I'll try, Jaypaw. You need to wake up, though," She gently trailed her tail across her flank, making him have the urge to purr. Not now, his mind scolded him. He nodded, and let the black fuzziness take over him.
