As you lie on your bed, you can't help but stare at the cold metal ceiling above you, your arms crossed over your chest.

Regret fills your thoughts as you think back on the past two years spent with Zuko.

Yet, the purpose of your journey—to find the Avatar and prevent harm from coming to them—continues to drive you forward.

You've been labeled the Avatar Guardian, a title that you've never particularly liked. Unlike the Avatar, you reincarnate a few years before them to complete your training.

It's a concept that has never quite made sense to you. The burden of protecting the Avatar comes with a unique punishment: you can feel the Avatar's pain when you fail to protect them.

Unlike the Avatar, you alone retain the memories of all your past lives. It's been a hundred years since the Avatar vanished, and you vividly recall the day it happened.

It started like any other day, and then suddenly, you felt like you were drowning, overcome by an intense cold that left you numb.

It's been that way for the entirety of your existence. You can't help but think that the Avatar must have been encased in ice, as your body hasn't aged either.

Living as a fourteen-year-old for an entire century is a strange and unsettling experience.

Today, you're turning a hundred and fourteen - nothing special. You wonder how much longer you'll age until the Avatar comes back.

You were lost in your thoughts, contemplating the day's events, when a sudden knock on the metal door jolted you back to reality.

You sat on the edge of your bed, stretching your arm over your head before calling, "Come in!" The door opened with a creak, and in walked Iroh, carrying a tray of steaming tea.

You couldn't help but smile at the sight of the older man, who had been your close friend for over half a century. You first met Iroh when he was just a fifteen-year-old boy, and the two of you had shared many adventures.

However, when he had to leave to focus on his training, you had lost touch with him until the day you saw him again, many years later.

It was the day you accompanied Zuko when he was banished from the Fire Kingdom, and Iroh's face lit up with confusion and joy when he saw you.

You could understand why - after all, you hadn't aged at all, and it must have been quite a shock for him to see you looking the same as you had over fifty years ago.

You had to speak to him privately that day to explain who you were - the Avatar's guardian. Thankfully, he understood and kept your secret safe, not mentioning it to anyone.

"Happy one-hundred-and-fourteenth birthday," Iroh said with a gentle smile. He placed the tea tray on his lap and poured fragrant jasmine tea into two delicate cups.
