The other night was long and dark, but you stayed up all night, vigilant and watchful, ensuring that no one would approach and attack your group while they slept, vulnerable and defenseless.

Despite Katara's repeated requests that you rest, you shrugged off her concerns, believing that your duty was always to protect everyone. After all, what was the point of your existence if you could not fulfill this fundamental obligation? You had been lost and purposeless for a hundred years, unable to find your true calling.

But now, as you lay down for a brief respite on the back of Appa, soaring over the endless expanse of the ocean, you felt at peace, knowing that you were finally fulfilling your destiny as the guardian and protector of the Avatar and his friends.

You found it hard to sleep soundly, being a light sleeper. Any sound would wake you; this time, it was Sokka's voice. He questioned Aang about their destination, "You have no idea where you're going, do you?" You opened your eyes, feeling irritated by Sokka's loud voice.

You realized you couldn't rest much longer, so you sat up and leaned on the saddle's edge while crossing your arms over your chest. Aang replied to Sokka's inquiry, "Well, I know it's near water."

You looked around and saw nothing but water in every direction, making you sigh as you hoped it wouldn't take too long to get to wherever Aang was bringing you all. Sokka huffed and said bluntly, "Well, I guess we're getting close then."

As you watched Katara sew Sokka's pants with utmost concentration, you couldn't help but wonder how she did it so effortlessly. If it were you, you would've pricked your finger with the needle more than once.

Suddenly, Aang's voice broke your thoughts as he said, "Hey Katara, Y/n. Check out this Airbending trick." You turned your head towards him and saw him spinning a few marbles in his palms. You clapped your hands excitedly, impressed by his skills.

However, sitting beside you, Katara didn't look up from her sewing and said, "That's great, Aang." You could sense the disappointment in Aang's voice as he cupped the marbles in his hands. "You didn't even look," he said before Katara finally glanced at him and repeated, "That's great."

"But I'm not doing it now," he slumped forward, dejected. Sokka, quiet until then, suddenly said, "Stop bugging her, airhead. You need to give girls space when they do their sewing." You whipped your head towards him, feeling a surge of anger in your chest at his sexist remark.

Katara was perplexed at Sokka's statement as he leaned against Appa's saddle with his hands behind his head. "What does me being a girl have to do with sewing?" she asked him. Sokka, with a condescending tone, replied, "Girls are better at fixing pants than guys, and guys are better at hunting and fighting and stuff like that. It's just the natural order of things." Such a misogynistic remark took you aback. You felt a surge of anger towards the boy.

You clenched your fists, ready to sock him in the face, but Katara spoke up before you could do anything. "All done with your pants, and look what a great job I did," she said sarcastically, throwing the pants at Sokka's face. Sokka was horrified to see the hole in his pants and begged Katara not to make him wear them.
