Lisa held back many of the awful words she had building upon her tongue as she shared eye contact with Aaliyah. Aaliyah continued dancing with Michael, easing back for a little more closeness between them.

"You really do got moves," Michael said after biting into his bottom lip, occasionally slipping one hand to Aaliyah's waist.

Lisa noticed and stepped forward, "Michael, it's time that we leave."

Michael began to stop dancing, "Why, baby? We're still having a good time."

"Y'all are, but I'm not. I'm starting not to feel so well," she responded.

Michael then agreed it was time to leave and Aaliyah gathered the children as everyone said their farewells.

Sunday morning, everyone sat down to breakfast prepared by Aaliyah.

"Since the children are out of school tomorrow, we should have family day. Oh! And the carnival is coming to town tomorrow! That's the only day, so we should take a visit," Aaliyah smiled happily.

"That actually sounds like a wonderful idea, LiLi. Let's do it," Michael said with a smile across his face.

"You're so much fun, LiLi! We can go on rides together and share funnel cakes!" Mariah giggled excitedly.

"We ride carasel, Neeyah," Melanie added.

Aaliyah placed her forehead to Melanie's, "The carousel sounds perfect, my buttercup."

Lisa paused cutting her pancake and jealousy formed all over her. She stared at the smiles on everyone's face and was upset that she wasn't the reason behind it.

Lisa began to smirk as she slowly stood to her feet, "I must thank you for breakfast, Aaliyah. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go out shopping for tonight's dinner."

"I'll walk you out, babe," Michael said and stood up, following out behind Lisa.

-Lisa-

Later that evening, I entered such a noisy home. Michael, Aaliyah, and the kids were running around playing. The living room was messy with board games, snacks, and coloring books.

Michael laughed loudly as he jogged over to me, "Welcome home. I'll take these."

He grabbed the groceries and I kept my eyes on the scene of Aaliyah and the kids briefly before walking into the kitchen.

I spent an hour preparing dinner and setting up the table. As I poured liquid into everyone's cup, I was sure to add a special liquid to Aaliyah's. This little liquid was sure to have her nauseated, even light headed, for days.

As I chewed on my meatloaf, I watched Aaliyah drink more from her glass. By the way she was looking, I could tell my special juice was working on her insides.

"Excuse me," she said as she got up quickly and walked out of the dining room.

Michael noticed and wiped his mouth, quickly sliding his chair back and running after her, "LiLi! You okay?"

I took a long sip from my glass and laughed to myself. Awww, poor LiLi.

"I hate she had to get sick a night before our planned family day," Michael said as we laid in bed.

"I know, honey. I was actually looking forward to going to the carnival," I replied.

He sighed, "I'll just have to stay home and tend to her until she's better."

I blurted, "No!"

Michael looked at me as if I was crazy.

"I mean.. I'll leave her out some medicine and I'll cook her some soup before we leave. I still want the kids to enjoy themselves on their free day and we need this family time."

"Wow. You really are trying to change. That makes me happy, Lisa. It's set then!" Michael wrapped his arm around me and I snuggled under him, smirking to myself.

I can have my family back with Aaliyah out of the way for a few days.

-Narrator-

The next day, Michael and Lisa loaded the kids in the truck to head out to the carnival. Aaliyah had just showered and dressed before she went outside to catch them.

"Aren't you suppose to be in bed?" Lisa asked.

"I'm going to the carnival," Aaliyah replied.

Michael stepped to her, "You're awfully pale, LiLi. I don't think you coming along is a good idea."

"The carnival is only in town today and I wanna be there for the kids. I can't ride any rides with this awful nausea, but I won't miss seeing them have the time of their lives!" Aaliyah said and went ahead to allow herself in on the back seat.

Michael did not even attempt to argue against her. Instead, he started up the truck and headed to the carnival. The motion had Aaliyah feeling a lot worser than before. The bumps of the road had been a tease to the spew awaiting to escape.

At the carnival, Michael won this huge teddy bear, which he gave to Aaliyah.

"This won't take away your illness, but I hope it makes you smile."

Aaliyah was able to manage a grin against her lips as she took the bear from Michael's grip. Lisa was furious. She couldn't believe he had given such a huge prize to Aaliyah.

They walked around and paused at a ride Jr wanted to get on. Mariah and Melanie ran behind him, feeling inspired to get on as well.

Michael pulled out his camera and took some pictures as the ride began. The kids waved each time the ride took them into Michael and Lisa's view. Aaliyah held a napkin over her mouth and coughed terribly, still holding on to her teddy bear.

Michael rushed over to her, "Are you alright? I told you this was a bad idea."

Before Aaliyah could respond, she felt herself becoming sick and vanished to a nearby trash can. Lisa watched as Michael followed behind her and rubbed her back, pulling her hair out of the way. Lisa hated this and was a lot more upset to discover her evil plan had perhaps back fired.

She was so attentive to Aaliyah and Michael, she hadn't even noticed the kids coming off the ride and asking her for more tickets.

Michael stared at Aaliyah as his hand rested against the small of her back, "We're going to go home and I'm going to take care of you."

"Bu-" Aaliyah began before Michael placed his finger over her lips to shush her.

"No buts. I'm going to take good care of you. Now, let's go home."
