As I went downstairs, I spotted the entire Raichand family. That's when I remembered Mom mentioning their visit in the evening. The moment I saw them, I dashed back upstairs—I couldn't let them see me looking like a complete mess!

Rushing to my room, I let my hair down, swapped my shorts for pants, and decided to stick with the white top I was already wearing since it looked decent enough

Rushing to my room, I let my hair down, swapped my shorts for pants, and decided to stick with the white top I was already wearing since it looked decent enough. After quickly washing my face to erase all traces of sleep, I went back downstairs. Greeting everyone with a polite "Namaste," I touched the elders' feet—because, of course, "Bhai, future bahu hu inki, itna toh banta hai!" (Brother, I'm their future daughter-in-law; this much courtesy is expected!) I blushed so hard thinking about it.

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed my brother giving me not one but two side glares. "He must be wondering when I became so sanskaari (traditional)," I thought. "Unko kya pata, jab aisa pati mile toh koi kuch bhi kar sakta hai, huh!" (What does he know? When someone gets a husband like Avyaan, they can go to any lengths!)

"Sanskari rizz, huh?" he muttered under his breath, making sure no one else could hear.

"Nahi Bhai, saas ke liye bahu ka pyaar," (No, Brother, it's just the daughter-in-law's love for the mother-in-law,) I murmured back.

"Huh? Kya kaha?" (Huh? What did you say?) he asked.

"Nahi Bhai, maine kaha kuch kaha? Kabhi kabhi sanskaari banna padta hai, muah!" (No, Brother, did I say something? Sometimes you just have to be traditional, muah!) I replied with a grin.

"Okay, so we're leaving for Rajasthan the day after tomorrow," Avyaan's Chachi informed us. "Hotel bookings are done; you can take care of the decorations. We'll send you the contact details."

"Acha, toh pehla function mehendi ka hai, jaate hi shuru karenge?" Dad asked. (Okay, so the first function is the mehendi, right? It'll start as soon as we arrive?)

"Haan, mehendi will be on the first day itself," Avyaan's Chacha confirmed.

They continued discussing the wedding preparations while my excitement grew with every passing moment. "Jaisalmer, here we come! Hayee!" I thought, imagining the vibrant colors, the culture, and of course, the shopping!
