The five boys were absolutely exhausted as they rode in the limo back to the hotel after their performance. Their father was joining them, having booked the room next to theirs by complete coincidence. As the limo drove, Yuya decided to do some magic tricks.
"Yuri, pick a card," he said, holding a shuffled deck of playing cards out to his brother. Yuri grinned and picked a card. Yusho smiled as he watched. Yuya was the only one of his children that had taken an interest in performing magic like him, and he had gotten very good at it.
"Ok, memorize that card, and put it back in the deck," Yuya said. Yuri looked at the card for a moment, then stuck it back in Yuya's card deck. Yuya shuffled and cut the deck a few times as his family watched. Then, Yuya fanned out the deck a bit and picked a card out from somewhere in the middle. "Is this your card?"
"How do you DO that?!" Yuri yelped, staring at the seven of spades that Yuya was showing him. It was indeed the card that he'd picked. Yuto, Yugo, and Zarc, who had all seen the card Yuri had picked, were in equal shock.
"There is no way!" Yugo protested. "That deck has to be full of seven of spades cards! There's just no other way you could have found Yuri's card so easily!"
"Really?" Yuya asked with a grin. He held up the deck and showed his brothers the card faces. Each of the cards was different, and there were no other seven of spades in sight.
"How in the hell do you manage to do that?!" Yuto cried. Yuya just grinned and winked. "A magician never reveals his secrets!"
"Daaaaad!" Zarc said, pouting furiously. "You tell us then!"
"Nope," Yusho chuckled. "If I tell you, then I'll be revealing my own secrets as well! After all, I taught Yuya everything he knows about magic!"
Yuya smiled proudly, hugging his dad tightly. Yusho chuckled and hugged him back. "You did very well!" he said. "If I didn't know the secret, I would have been stumped too!"
"Not fair!" Yuri whined. "I wanna know the secret!"
"Never!" Yuya giggled. "I'll never tell! I'll take the secret to my grave! Mwahahahaha!"
His brothers all pouted, but knew that neither Yuya nor Yusho would reveal the secret to them. After all, none of them really had a serious interest in learning magic. It was just Yuya who had wanted to learn. His brothers were content with being entertained with magic tricks, and were all very proud of Yuya for learning so well.
"Well, this was a fun night, but it's about time we head off to bed," Zarc said, reaching over and patting Yuya's tomato hair. "And tomorrow we'll be spending the whole day with Dad before our next performance."
Yuya lit up excitedly. "Really?!" he squealed. "Yay! I can't wait! We can have breakfast together, and go swimming in the hotel pool, and play games, and eat lunch, and—"
"We can do all that and more," Yusho said, ruffling Yuya's hair. "Don't worry, I won't be going anywhere for a few days."
